Hello! I’m new here and looking to get into a Tacoma. I was wondering if this was a good price or not because I’m not very family with them at all yet, it has 94000 miles. Thanks!F7EA6DAD-EA26-4399-B4ED-891143EFDCEB.jpg

I paid that for my 2011 last year with 130K
Prices are bouncing around, that’s not a bad price but I would get them down 1-2K

FYI, that is an SR5 that someone put a TRD Sport sticker on. No steering wheel audio controls or sport seats like a TRD Sport would have.

No pics of the frame. No interest or negotiations until it's looked at VERY well. Bodies can look pristine and the frames like swiss cheese. ANY coating on it other then the latter toyota clear or fluid film, walk, especially if rubberized. Check around the cat converter area and all welds. Way to many people post here that have been screwed with frame rot and no recourse from anyone.
You need to actually get your arse under the truck with a flashlight and preferably a small hammer and do the ''thunk'' test. If it sounds ''dead'' it's rotted to hell and de-laminating. RUN.

It's not covered under toyota's frame recall anymore and if it's bad, the dealer will absolutely refuse to do anything about it no matter what they initially SAY. Saying something means nothing, you won't see them putting it in writing.

My 2010 DCLB 2WD PreRunner with 100k miles got me $21k last June from insurance due to someone totalling it.

Considering this is a year older, a short bed, but 4WD, $19k doesn't seem unreasonable....BUT, it's in MO which means snow, which means rusted frame.

Mine was always in Texas in a garage so the frame was pretty much brand new.

Is that really a fair price? I paid 20k for my 07 in 2013. I know the markets different now but dang.. it's clean and low miles for a 2009 though. Good luck with search and hope you enjoy a tacoma

Not to mention the coveted 'scooped sport hood'.

Like they said, frame, frame, frame. This one's too old for the Toyota frame replacement program, so you're on your own. Might be worth it to have an independent deep inspection done on your dime if your that serious about pulling the trigger. Looks clean, miles are right, they ain't giving it away @ $19K for an '09 IMO, but might deal a little. :notsure:

Run the VIN through the Toyota website to bring up the original window sticker, it will tell you exactly which trim level it came with from the factory, but as others have pointed it, it doesn't have the correct seats or audio controls. The sport truck would also have the blue Tokiko shocks ( if they haven't been replaced yet). Don't overpay for a bed decals that a used car stealership slapped on to jack up the price.

Thank you all for the helpful advice! I actually found one I think I like a little more, it has more miles but I checked the VIN and it has a perfect service record. As of now I have a 2022 ford maverick hybrid I’m getting out from under ( wanting something with a lower payment, and 4wd) Is there specific areas on the frame that rust more than others? Or is it a common issue all over the frame?

may not have even been the dealership, heck most Toyotas Tacoma's pull up as base models, my insurance guy asked me all kinds of questions about my 09 when i got it, asked if it had TRD stickers on the bed sides even with the VIN, but yes my nephews friend got a 92 "TRD PRO package." poor kid got a truck with a lunchbox locker in the back, and some fender badges
