I have the redarc and stock lights and lots of towing miles with zero issues.

are you able to revert to stock and see if the issue continues?

Towed 7k miles with the stock wranglers and this makes a HUGE difference. If you find 45 is too hard can lower to 40 or so. Kinda depends on what your tongue weight is and how much stuff you have in the cab/bed…

Hadn't heard of this before, but maybe something I can try when spring comes. But it does work some of the time, after a reset if nothing else, so hard to test reliably. I guess when it trips up again I could give the light bulb test a try.

I also picked up another Redarc off someone on craigslist who had pulled it out of their Tacoma, to I have another unit I can test with as well now.

Yeah if nothing else seems to work I may need to do this. Will be a pain as I have both the @MESO stage 1 tail lights and the side markers, but if that is the last option I may need to do that.

Either way, can't really do too much until spring since I don't need it right now and don't want to fiddle with it in the cold, salty winter. Once I get my camper back it should be warmer and will give me something to actually pull around to test with.

Towed one of our vehicles a few months back across the country. Had no issues the entire time on an all stock setup.

You may have been happy with it but your taco does not look happy, looks like it’s straining to take the biggest shit of its lifetime. Too much tongue weight.

The main reason to run an E rated tire.. You have the sidewall strength and can adjust pressures all the way to 80psi..

I was towing 5x8 U-Haul trailer with my V6 SR5 from CT to FL.
Overall decent experience but truck was definitely struggling when going through mountains in south west VA I-81, then I-77 (Fancy Gap), through NC. Snow wasn't the issue as it was pretty warm, just very steep inclines were a bit of challenge.
I wish it was supercharged :anonymous::spending:

Agree, which is why I was considering it. Do you run E load & tow with them? Any impressions you can share? Probably worth running the stock tires higher first to see if that solves the issue.

I was seriously considering Cooper At3 LT tires because towing didn't feel secure. I tow a 5klb (loaded) dual axle TT with the Anderson WDH. The Anderson does a great job with sway control and weight distribution, my truck suspension sits about 1/2" compressed, I also have sumo springs in the rear (which do not touch the frame when hitched up).

When towing I now always inflate my tires 10-15psi above stock pressures. The difference is night and day. Towing with stock pressures the truck feels like its wallowing side to side and up and down, it even feels like the TT is loose back there. Correctly inflated tires is a game changer and will even help when a semi comes past and minimize the push pull sensation.

I don't know why the American market doesn't have a decal in the door suggesting correct psi ratings depending on load like they do in Europe... This decal was on one of my previous cars, a 10psi difference between 2 passengers in the car vs 4 passengers and luggage.

    We tow a 5k 19ft Hideout.
In our old 2nd gen I started towing with Revo2 SL and it felt squirrelly, changed up to E K02 and it was much better. With the 3rd Gen I tried a few summers with the stock Toyo A20 SL before they wore out and I could get some Toyo RT E back on there.

I'd also recommend a friction anti-sway bar- makes a huge difference in keeping the trailer stable behind you.

Im supercharged with 4.88 gears. It’s pretty good. Once I get the stability piece sorted it will be great. I have red arc, rear sway bar installed, Andersen wdh. Towing a 22ft enclosed car hauler. Mileage of course sucks but I was spoiled with a diesel x5 I miss dearly (but don’t miss the repair bills or check engine lights).

How tight do you set your Anderson?

I’ve found a lot of people do not tighten it enough… once you put the hitch on the ball and lock it, lift the tongue jack and the back of the truck 1.5-2” and then do the adjustments. The red collar should be swollen with pressure once you let the tongue jack back down and the system is all under tension.

Thank you for the photo. I see you have some washers on there to help as well. I definitely had to tighten the hitch multiple times along my 950mile journey. I'm pretty convinced most of my issue was tire related - very little sway. I dropped airbag PSI and tightened the hitch more which helped the vehicle track better. I think just to get everything dialed in. Bags, tire PSI, hitch tension. :)

Yeah the brackets on the frame slipped a little on the first use and adding the washers was the easiest solution as I've been on the road since picking the TT up.

The Anderson is great, hopefully a little extra air in the tires will make the difference, I know for me it was! Good luck.

TRD Exhaust, Mobtown bolt on sliders and aluminum tailgate reinforcement, Reverse lights changed to yellow turn signals, LED pods added for reverse, ADD W1 oil catch can, Total Chaos bed reinforcement, rear diff breather to taillight mod, 12" combo led bars behind lower grill wired to high beams, Toyota led bed light kit, 400 watt anytime mod, SSO slimeline front bumper.
Normally tow a 20' Dory, but helped clean up a friend's yard (recycle an old Accord), so I got to try out a U-Haul car hauler.

Estimate only about 4,500lbs total, but towed fine with no problems. I would not hesitate to do it again, for any distance.
