I've got steerable headlights. Very subtle, you really don't notice them move but they do make a difference on a winding road

So to me a hand plane is the kind that great grandpa used, and a power planer is one of the handheld guys with the spinning cutter head (like like this guy). In neither case do I use a guide or fence for them. In fact with the power planer I think you would maybe get in some trouble that way. Even with the corners of the cutters dressed properly they tend to leave edges/tracks, and the best way I've found to mitigate that is to run the planer along the grain of the wood but with the planer itself offset - in other words, not like you would a circular saw, aligned in the direction of the cut, but at a slight angle to the direction of the pass.

2010 is gen 2 pre facelift right?

I have no idea if these look cheesy once installed or not to be completely fair.

    https://tacomabeast.com/products/05-11-toyota-tacoma-projector-headlights-light-bar-drl-version-2

But there are a couple other options for projector beams too.

I agree. Projector is awesome. I like it more than OEM led. This way I can drop in a more amber light for snowy times and a more white light for non snowy times.

Absolutely, been a staple on a lot of guitars since the 80s if I'm not mistaken. Been wanting to swap pickups on my old ass junker but the ones I'm looking at are like 400 for the set and ship from England :bananadead:

If I was ballsy enough to bake my headlights I'd have em in mine. I did the H11 bulb upgrade and it's marginally better but still pretty trash

Spyder is garbage. If I still had my 2G, I’d have a halogen bulb upgrade in the OEM headlamp.

If I didn’t have OEM led I’d have H9. Anything else is a step down. Extensive testing backs this up and until testing finds a better option that’s what I’m staying with.

If better aesthetics are worth a performance downgrade, that’s your prerogative but it’s not something I would do or recommend.

Girlfriend's CX-5 has those - steerable LED Projectors. They're excellent headlights.

My last F-150 had factory halogens and they were absolutely awful. Low beams were completely useless. This one has LED projectors and they're definitely much better, but not as good as the Mazda's lights.

My 250 came with the factory halogen headlights, and I agree they were useless. Factory LEDs cost about &3k, and I’m not a fan of the Morimoto offerings. I’m currently running a drop in LED kit. I only get flashed if I’m cresting over a hill, I otherwise have a decent cut off they are worlds better than the factory halogens

My factory LEDs cut off pretty low on the low beam setting, I don't think I have ever been flashed. Oddly, the cars that bother me the most tend to be the luxurious German brands. They're much lower than me, but seem so excessively bright compared to everything else.

I agree, i get one of those behind me and their lights are right in my mirror. My mirrors are 3-4' higher than their headlights so I'm not sure how thats even possible.

Short term at least I'm thinking one of the cheaper LED housings fog light setups. See if that helps. Either way my stockers are old

    Cheap LEDs are cheap LEDs.

If you are dead set on LED with a lower budget the OEM LED 3G fogs are only a few dollars more and have a much higher build quality with better parts.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/upgrade-fog-lights-to-oem-led.682305/page-2#post-28245288

Those are part numbers for both options. You could pick up the black ones at Sullivan Toyota for $124 plus tax. That's a no-brainer for me.

I just meant for projectors. I have no idea what's good or not I just dropped H9 amber bulbs into my turd gen and called it a day

I have white led pods replaced my fogs when I want white light.

My apologies, I know the later 2G and 3G interchange. I assumed the early ones did too.

Not sure if that interchange is true for fogs, regardless it isn't for me. Though I def would go that route if Toyota had them for mine.

Fog lights are overrated, haven't had them for 3 or 4 years now. My 250's didn't come with them and tge only way to add them is change the bumper so I'm mildly jealous of you guys who can add and swap them.

I love my fogs, I put the elites by DD in. Probably brighter than my gfs high beams on the Mazda 3 lol.

Anyone skiing tomorrow? Not sure where to go. My midweek pass at pats is blacked out and so is anywhere within 2 hours of me it’s the Indy Ski Pass. Thinking I’d prefer to not drive much more than an hour of Salem NH

Just a low end build. Actually, if the truck doesn’t have fog lights from the factory, I prefer it this way. I don’t like the bumpers that have the plastic cut outs for fogs but no lights, it looks like a blatant omission or something was forgotten/unfinished. My bumper is flat straight across that area, doesn’t look unfinished at all, just makes it so I can’t easily add them later.
