I have a Harley softail with abs and was told the same thing- “special procedure to computer activate the abs…”. Found an old HD forum post that mentioned a vacuum bleeder vs manual bleeding and it worked for me. I purchased the HF bleeder and have been really happy with it for the bike and the truck.

You can also go the extremely wrong but still works route and bleed once, go for a ride, find a quiet road, and brake hard enough to activate your ABS a dozen or so times to flush it out with new fluid (make sure you give your brakes time to cool in between), then come home and bleed again

Or y'know, google your bike model and find a proper way or tool to do it ;)

I bought the version one step up with the larger reservoir the other week and did my 4runner's brakes with it. It was awesome. So handy to be able to suck all the fluid out of the reservoir and not have to bleed that through, too. Edit: I only bought the larger version since I was replacing calipers and hoses and knew I'd be bleeding a quart or two through it and didn't want to deal with disposing of the old stuff, much rather just let it sit in the giant reservoir haha

Before that, on the bikes I'd use the motion pro brake bleeder one way valve thing. Then you can just keep pumping pumping pumping and not have to worry about closing the bleeder late and sucking air in.

I use mine all the time when installing stainless brake lines on trucks. It’s definitely a time saver for sure. Paid for itself already. I don’t feel like the reservoir is too small for most jobs but it would probably be an issue if I was doing a full fluid purge on the truck.

Just snuck in an edit on you on my last post, I replaced the front 2 calipers and some lines and bled the whole system on my 4runner and bought the bigger one just for the larger reservoir. I'm a lazy SOB and hate going out to the recycling center so when presented with the option to delay those trips, I take it.

I probably have two gallons of brake fluid I need to take in and just keep pushing it off.

My bike is a 2018 Triumph Street Triple RS. There's not a lot of Triumphs on the road and therefore not a lot of info about it. I'm on one forum, but there really isn't a consensus on the best way to do things other than buying the official dealer software is prohibitively expensive. I did find Dealer Tool mentioned on the forum so I'm going to give that a try.

Thanks for the tip. Does the vacuum bleeder clear out the ABS valves?

Yeah not going with your option A lol

Managed to sneak in about 110 miles today. Temps ranged from 35-42 but the sun was shining the whole time and for the most part it felt warmer than that.Picked up a bunch more murals for the Grand Tour I'm in. Here's a few highlights.

I actually got a few more beyond these but these were the most colorful. By my count if no submissions are rejected, I should be around 48 so far. Fortunate to live in a target rich environment.

How do you like the 890r? It really grabbed my interest, its compact but not too bunched up. KTM has some top quality bikes, reasonable price, doubt they would let me ride one but debating getting rid of my 1000 for one, don't need the power and heard the parallel twin is plenty torquey making it fun down low.

@Xtremsiege2 the way I look at it. If I want to go fast I got the 1000. But if I want to just chill and cruise around the 890r does the trick. I was originally looking at the yamaha mt09 but didn't like haw the bike felt. Sat on the ktm and was all about it.

I did about 15 miles on the Victory today.. one of my most favorite bikes to date. 100 miles into ownership (and 100 miles into riding any bike more than a dual sport), it's been a very fun ride. Unique experience at first, but I've found many riding similarities to my other bikes.
Just as unique is that I'm only 17.. I can't think of many my age riding bikes like this .

Seat heater has been replaced :bananadance: back to having toasty buns on my commute. Also did an oil/air filter change, but really the seat heater is the exciting part :bananadead:

so the rear master on the DRZ blew up again (keeps happening), I think i'm just going to replace it. Should I also rebuild the rear caliper? Where should i get a replacement master from?

I did get my new WV plates on and she passed inspection without a problem :anonymous:

    Sweet, I totally agree.

When i did the master last time, i cleaned/flushed the caliper but didnt rebuild it, so within two summers, the master has failed again.

Do you have a recommendation for where to find new OEM parts online? My old source on thumpertalk seems to not be reliable anymore :(

edit: i read your post in the voice of Randy Savage

Revzilla this last year has actually really stepped up their game in OEM part support. https://www.revzilla.com/oem/suzuki/2015-suzuki-dr-z400s?submodel=dr-z400sl5
