The person I quoted said the Ford 10 speed is used in fwd and RWD. It's not. It's used in cars and trucks but all are RWD.

I should have clarified, the Ford transmission is joint venture with GM. GM builds a 9 speed version of that design that they use in FWD vehicles.

Most likely the 2024 gas Tacoma will look very close if not identical to this. Sans blocked out grille.

So the thinking is that the Gen 4 ICE will look like the 2024 Electric except with a traditional vented front grille?

There won’t be an electric only Tacoma for 2024.

I don't think they would waste their time and release a new Gen unless they can can get close to 30 mpg on highway. My guess will be 24 city /27 highway.

My understanding from insiders is that the current 2.7 and 3.5 carry over initially and that the 2.4 non turbo hybrid from the highlander will be available and the 2.4 turbo hybrid pro max will be standard on Pro.

The only thing I can figure in Toyotas thinking is that they may be planning to make Tacoma hybrid and full electric only like the Venza Sienna etc in the near future but I guess we will see

Although I agree with you, I doubt it will get close to 30. My tank average per gallon is 17.7 on mostly city driving. It would be great to see that go up to 21 or more.

Why do some think they will carry over the 6 ...they definitely won't. And you don't need to be an "insider" to figure that out . With all the material shortages toyota can't do it that way .
