Also as @Bishop84 said, there is no need to crank down on it.

If you do choose torque it to spec, make absolutely certain the threads on the bolt and inside the diff are free from oil.
As well as the face of the diff where the head of the bolt sits. Other wise, you’ll over torque it and be in for a really bad day.

Use a sharp punch to make a dent on the plug, then walk the plug out by hammer the dent counter clock wise

I had to air chisel the fill plug on my ‘97 4runner’s front diff to get it off after some gorilla tightened it to about 600 ft. lbs. and it stripped.

Cut a slot into the face with a dremel, then get a chisel into the slot and whack it counter clockwise with a hammer. Or weld a nut to the face of the plug and use a breaker bar.

    Working now a list
Go to muffler show and have them weld a bolt to it.

Non issue if you torque to spec. We have a couple of magicians on the forum that can detect torque in their fingertips after 70 years working on cars.

    It’s the 90341-24016. (Lexus).

The other one is a transmission or differential fill plug for some vehicles.

Only 1 way to find out, try it and see. Is it a socket on the other side? Looks like it just fits inside and uses a wrench to loosen it up. :notsure:

How is this any different from using an Allen key bit?

Yeah, it's a 24MM socket on the other side...I'll give it a go and report back!

Waste of money - get the original out by any/all of the means mentioned above then get the Lexus plug to replace it (what it should have come with in the first place). But its your money.

They state that the 10mm side is slightly oversized designed to tap in and "hopefully" prevent it from stripping. There's a 24mm socket side to get a good bite...Here's a pretty cool video I just found showing how it works.
