Good guess! Caliper bore of a Saint caliper.

Shimano doesn’t sell rebuild kits for their calipers for a good reason. The ceramic pistons are hella fragile. They chip too easily and you will damage one for sure when removing them from 4 piston calipers. This was more of an experiment to see the internals of a Saint caliper. It will be my backup caliper. All replacement parts were from
Amazon. I hope to never have to use this backup caliper.

Ouch! Hopefully you can even find a replacement! Shimano 12 speed stuff hasn’t been easy to source lately.

My stock seatpost is a bit long, can't lower it at all right now. A dropper seatpost just isn't in the budget at the moment.

What type of recipricating saw blad should I use to cut it shorter...a higher TPI or lower?

    Thanks.

    get a pipe cutter. :)
    something akin to:
    https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-...58700007593579102-92700074570311867&gclsrc=ds

and don't forget to file down the burrs after you make the cut.

You can also just use a hacksaw. you don't have to worry too much about keeping the cut straight on a seatpost (as opposed to a steerer tube or handlebar).

Pipe cutter would be my first choice, second choice would be a hack saw with a metal blade. As mentioned, remember to deburr and you’ll be good to go.

    NBD!

I ordered this Lynskey Pro 29 frame back in October and have been gathering parts since then while it was getting built.

    upload_2023-1-16_6-17-6.jpg

My intention is to tinker with building it. I don’t need it until spring and trying to work and be an equal part in parenting the baby/ keep up with all of the other household stuff doesn’t leave much time for working on or even riding bikes.

I did go ahead and put the headset and fork on it so it looks like a bike though!

    upload_2023-1-16_6-19-57.jpg

Finally, test fitting the reason this build started!

Both are solar powered and self recharging.

Chain clearance was eventually achieved by spacing the front sprocket in & reversing both.
