TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

News to me, they don’t fit?! Maybe I won’t pick one up haha

 

Working on the Tundra over the next week. Bought some universal intake manifold heat shield to put around the supercharger

 

question- if it has liquid cooling like our mp90 shouldnt it be just fine with no additional insulating help?

 

when the belt goes its a very likely piece to get hammered. i understand the 1st ones sold dont fit.

It's not that we are popping them it's just that between blowing out belts and/ or putting on the belt incorrectly just once and stopping the truck almost immediately after to recheck it or make sure it wasn't on wrong, you can shred the plastic units incredibly quickly and make a non leaky unit a heavily spraying/ leaking unit at the snap of a finger.

Don't pick that unit up. It won't work for us boosted guys.

 

Yes, but the IAT still gets hot enough that people sometimes add an additional intercooler and wrap the lines. I've had a lot of downtime with the s/c and figured why not. Also I'm kinda going balls to the wall with this build. Everything is basically getting maxed from the get go.

I had an aluminum housing when i was running the APR X-1. wish i would have kept that instead of selling it with the X-1. i ended up using the URD one that came with the UCON.

 

Can you guys recommend a company for rebuild of the ROTORS ONLY? And ceramic coating application? Does Stegmeier do this? I think when I talked with Jon Bond many years ago, he said he did this.

If you're boosted just hold off anyways. They are going through a re-design.

And what ar they redesigning?
I don't know if it would be to much to ask but if it came in Red anodized I would pay more!

 

They are redesigning it to fit with the supercharger because the current one does not fit on boosted trucks.

3 years after install and it's still red?

 

100% percent red except the supercharger crank pulley that I ordered red and NST sent it black telling me red was on back order.
