A little something every chance we get.
 Good Afternoon Porch Pals & Sue! Beautiful day for more football watching! I'll get back to the yard tomorrow, when it's 80* again!

Replacement diode gizmo came yesterday, and I can finally close the book on another Phase in LBR. I put a silver tip on the diode, so I wouldn't mix them up.

    20230115_113750.jpg

The Volts are right up where they should be for the AGM (it does vary from there to normal on a drive).

    20230115_113811.jpg

And, lo & behold. the fuse box cover goes back on!

    20230115_114716.jpg

    And that's all for now...

Except, good Karma for your good results @wanna taco Alan, good to have you back @knayrb Bryan - you're due some smoother sailing.

I haven't read much here about movies or TV programs, so this might not have much interest, but at our age, indoor entertainment has a different definition than when we were younger, SO...
I do enjoy a few TV shows, mostly PBS, my favorite being a Masterpiece Theater item called 'All Creatures Great And Small'. As the title might suggest, it's about a veterinary practice in Yorkshire just before WWII. Not so much about animals as it is about period settings in beautiful country, and good character studies of the locals. Tonight was Season 3 episode 2 here in the States, for which I'd been patiently waiting since the 1st season ended.
Being of Scotch/English blood with a strong Yorkshire flavor, this beautiful little series puts me in touch with my ancestry in a very nice way. You'll have no trouble understanding the dialog, the English having finally learned that American viewers are seriously dialect challenged.
Shamefully, I haven't made any contributions to PBS in many years, but I do enjoy this series so much I think I'll get on board again.

    Morning all:

RETIRED :annoyed:, all that means is not getting a weekly paycheck, I'm still working my butt off, well sometimes! :)
Today is the last day of late archery and flintlock, my hunting buddy and I didn't have the ambition to go out for even one day. After hunting almost all of the early archery and rifle season, and only getting one deer, we figured the heck with it and that enough is enough!

Good morning. A couple of small projects on tap for today. Then maybe a movie. Cooking a cowboy ribeye for dinner tonight. A lazy day for sure.

To paraphrase Philadelphia sports team coaches "there's always next year" . Hopefully the herds had a good rut and the numbers will increase:thumbsup:. Have a good one Carl.

Periodically those monster snows and drifts would occur on South Pass above our town of Lander, Wyoming. US Steel had a mine up there and our neighbor would get caught "on shift" and have to stay up there in an emergency barracks until they could get home (sometimes many days later). This would be before '84 when we moved away - but he and another fellow took a 24 cubic yard rubber tired Dart loader and opened a way to the state highway - then started digging down toward where the state plows were stalled. They found a woman (alive) in a buried car that had for whatever reason gotten past the warning barriers into the "no mans land" above. They grabbed her up and back tracked into the mine - half frozen but alive. A clear reason not to pass the closed barriers they have at numerous points on the Wyo highway system.

Jeff told me he was just sure they wouldn't find anyone alive in the car when he climbed down off the loader - but miracles do occur.......

GREENBIRD56–This is just a “what a small world” we live in post. I worked summers in the Gas Hills uranium mine/mills pre-1984- my parents lived in Riverton at the time and my father was a General Manager in the Gas Hills for 7-8 years and talked about the challenges with working and keeping equipment running in prolonged wintered conditions.

Good morning all. Tacoma rolled over to 18k on my way in to work this morning. Heck, I put almost that many miles on my bike just last year.
