The jeep sway bar is electronic and it has some sort of spline/ gear connect in the center of it. It can only be disconnected in 4hi or low and you have to be on flat ground. It has a speed limit on it at 18mph. At 19mph, a message on the dash is displayed. Connecting Swaybar... The bronco one is hydraulic and can be disconnected under load which is cool. If I buy a Tazer unit, I think I can change this speed, or even allow disconnection in 2Hi. I am not sure if I will void my warranty by connecting a Tazer to the OBD port. You can also do crazy stuff with the tazer. Things like speedo/ gear re-cal, turning off Auto stop/start, Headlight party show....

For a Solid axle suspension, most travel is droop travel. I would imagine it would be quite noticeable without a front sway bar and swerving at speed. With IFS, the suspension is more forgiving. I haven't run one for years with my long travel kit, but the coilover spring rate is stiffer than stock so it makes up for it.

If you don't have a rubicon, you could buy swaybar quick disconnect links. Before you hit the trail, just disconnect your links and you are good to go. These can be a pain to re-connect if you aren't on flat ground.

Im guessing the 18mph is linked to some sort of lawyer guideline.

Looking for anyone that is interested in running the trifecta in Moab in the next few months. It is a combo of three hard rated trails, Poison Spider (6/10), Golden Spike (7/10), and Goldbar Rim (6/10). Good descriptions here https://www.rr4w.com/Trails-Home.cfm. Videos abound on YouTube.

I’ve run Poison spider and Top of the World both 6/10 along with 6 or so other 5/10 rated trails and numerous easier trails in Moab.

Anybody looking for a challenge wanna join me?

(Me on Top of the World for fun)

    I have interest.

I would need to study up on those trails. Familiar with the names, but not much else.

Might be interested depending on the month. I'll have to check my work schedule. I just attempted top of the world last weekend in our gladiator. The first major step was snow/ ice covered. The initial large ledge is taller than it was in 2019. Might have to wait a month or two for all the snow to melt.

It was just the wife and I and the doggos. We called it since we were the only ones out and didn't want to damage our new adventure rig with only 500 mi on it. I would probably do those trails in my long travel taco with 33's and my trusty elocker.

    This is from last weekend.

Don’t really want to do the trifecta in the snow. Any time in the next few months.

It’s just really hard to find people to wheel with. So many people “wheel” on mild ass dirt roads a Subaru can easily do twice a year and congratulate themselves. I want to push my wheelin but need people to go with.

Wife and I have done all the 5 and 6 rated trails we’ve done solo. She’s a good spotter but don’t want to push much harder without other rigs

I know the feeling. I have wanted to do lockhart basin or even make a trip and do Road to Hite/ Dollhouse/ Flint Trail one weekend. I have also wanted to do Hole in the Rock Trail (near halls crossing). I would definitely want to go with another vehicle on that one.
Typically its just the wife and I and doggos. We hardly ever see anyone on the trails, but it would be nice to wheel with another vehicle for that reason. We recently upgraded our SPOT Gen1 to a SPOT x to where we can actually communicate full messages via Satellite.

Maybe we can figure out something. PM me!

Its been several years since I heard anything about hole in the rock. we use to run it every year when I was a kid in my dad's 69 Land Cruiser and once in the 94 dodge Cummins. I've heard you can't make it to marble camp any more because of a crazy wash out but that was probably 10 years ago

Myself, @Jiveydude and @Rockymtntacoma did it back in January 2019. It was epic. It’s a fabulous trail run.

One thing is gas on that trip. Does the airport still offer gas? Also I assume that ferry at halls crossing is closed so you gotta go down and get gas in Hite and then continue down?

Gas is a definite issue for me right now. I've been getting 10mpg since the DT header install so I don't drive it much more than necessary.

I'm good for May for TriFecta. But after the 15th.
If you've run Hells Revenge and Top of the World you can do the TriFecta. Ya, theres a few spots that you gotta be able to get up some ledges or drop some ledges. But its a fun trail to run with a few challenges.

Hites crossing for is indefinitely closed. Closest fuel is Hanksville.

Luckily we were able to fuel up at the airport, or it would’ve been problematic.

Yeah, I think the ferry has been closed now for several years. You have to go all the way around. However, it’s pretty scenic.

Hole in the Rick is one of my favorite trails I’ve done.

Gas in Hite? Last time we went through there everything except the park service housing was shut down.

I live in ABQ NM but last year we camped/wheeled in Utah maybe 12 times. Moab is just under 6 hours from home and I have every other Friday off this year so I plan to make a bunch of trips that way. I’m sure I’ll be up there a time or two before May and might have some NM dudes lined up for the trifecta. But I’ll post when I’m headed to Moab. Always looking for people to wheel with. Would love to do Lockhart and hole in the rock and similar.

Best bet is to PM me. I get behind on TW a lot.
For Lockhart, just an out n back through the tough mile or the whole thing? I did the whole thing back in 2021. From Needles north. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-longest-mile.738348/

I live in UT now but my wheeling friends are all in Idaho with jeeps that are questionable on driving to Moab on their own power lol. And my UT friends are hippie climbers with Subarus. Anyways I have a Taco and need additional friends to do more sketchy stuff with.
