Hope all is well, not sure why you’re in a hospital, but I’d assume that you’re in good hands.
As for service recommendations… stay away from Koons Westminster! I live in Westminster and still will drive over an hour to go to Jones Junction. Koons people are all idiots and will talk to you like they are the superior ones. They’ll also try and upsell everything! They’ll even do things you didn’t ask for and then try and charge for it! Definitely go to Jones, they are awesome!

Alternator on the truck blew up today. Going to replace it with a 130amp tow package alternator.

Not sure if i should get a denso or an autozone duralast alternator. Thoughts?

 

So I won’t have any problems switching from 100 amp to 130 amp?

Howdy folks. It's lunch time, my brain needs a break from the MasterCam training all this week.

 

Well shake my britches, a hell no.

just ordered a lifetime warranty 130amp alternator from vatozone for $300

 

I've only used Denso alts & starters on customer's yotas & hondas and I never had any come backs.

 

I took the wife's 4runner in for a WV inspection today. The inspector quickly checked the lights & tires then asked me for the registration & mileage, that was it. It was a 2min process that cost me $14.50. I'm gonna take my Tacoma down one day this week. I'd rather deal with these yearly inspections over that bs Maryland emissions testing every 2 years.

 

I guess it’s a one time thing, but MD inspection was like $150.

That sounds easier than emissions checks.

 

Dave, I hear ya. I did the same thing for a while

Until I got that 2000 4runner. It had a Mexico made auto parts store cheapo alternator on it when I got it that failed. So I replaced it with a denso reman with a warranty. It failed very quickly. I got it replaced under warranty. The second one failed within six months and the warranty was not renewed on the replacement so I had to buy another. Instead of goin with another denso, I went with a duralast gold NEW alternator with a lifetime warranty from Autozone and as far as I know, that 4runner is still spinning that same alternator and I gave him all the receipts so the new owner could get the warranty on it if need be.

So it was an easy choice to go with the duralast again. No more remans for me. I’d rather take the chance on a used one from a pick and pull if I had to.

Well after 102,717 miles/3 years 11 months 14 days I've said goodbye to my 2019 Cavalry Blue DCSB and will miss it terribly.



To help me get over the loss, a 2023 Solar Octane Pro will fill the void left by such a wonderful truck. Something tells me I'll be alright.

Hello Anyone get the TRD Lift Kit put on at a Maryland dealer? If so what did you pay for the kit and dealer labor cost? What dealer etc.

I got a new 2023 Limited 4x4 Long Bed. Would like to go with the TRD KIT because of the TSS issue.
