I’m game for a more technical group run, or snow wheeling! but probably not one that a chance of body damage is “likely” or “high”

in other news: hope everyone’s enjoying the good snow. I’ve gotten more powder riding in the last two weeks than I did my first two seasons combined. Love being here over winter break! Managed to do 20k feet of vertical today at northstar only in the trees and was back at my truck by 2:15. I was going going going. Absolutely gassed. And I really want to get some more fresh snow tomorrow

I enjoyed the chained up cars doing 10mph on 580 in central reno where it was just wet pavement.

Also the “abandon your car on the median” thing that happens every storm.

 

Yup. It was painfully brutal to watch.

 

I'll be putting another run together for late spring/summer. Probably 3 or 4 day. Up north? Gerlach to Elko maybe? Been a while since I've done that.

 

Might have to try and get in on part of that If I get some days off while I'm working up in 'mucca for the summer

 

I drove down from Central Oregon today and just got into town. The drive was perfect until Lemmon Dr. Cars in the median, abandoned etc. Truckers chaining up all over, taking up up the shoulder and right lane. The last few miles were quite the shit show.

Going to be working on a project in the area for the next year or so. Driving a GX 470 with RTT installed, give me the one fingered salute if you see me...

 

After the previous storm I saw a car abandoned on 580 North at Duckhill between Carson and Washoe Valley. Just left in the #3 lane and buried in ice from the plows. That would suck to try and recover.

Truckers chaining up with their butt hanging over the fog line is pretty sketchy.

 

Agreed. They funnier part to me was that it cleared up a mile or so after they chained up. Was just wet pavement after McCarran on 395 SB.

 

Interesting. Thanks for that. Just seemed a bit coincidental that 4wp leaves and another off road store opens in the same place. I’m interested to see what brands they offer.

 

Only done part of the that drive on dirt. Can it be done the whole way through? Sounds like a good excuse to bust out the 24" discada and make tons of food.

 

I really think there ought to be immediate salvage rights to those cars once abandoned. That would teach 'em.

 

I would've had a field day on Mt Rose highway the other day. "Do I want the 4 runner, the ford edge, the highlander..."etc. It's an all you can tow shopping spree.

 

There was one frozen off the shoulder of 580 South near Duckhill for 4-5 days.

 

We did it in '12, <30 miles of pavement.

 

As long as we don't hit any golf-cart trails...

 

Nothing like last year, promise Hahahaha. You have to admit it was pretty in there.
