The manual + e-locked are super rare, unless I'm wrong that was something you could only order the e-locker with like in the pre-TRD days like with the Tacoma. I've only seen one (the one I linked earlier today), which is tempting if not for the rebuilt title/theft history. Too pricey for that risk, the engine rebuild doesn't help put the mind at ease for either $13.5k

^ hence why that one is a 1996 model (pre TRD days)

e-locker would be awesome but given how rare those are with the 5speed it's not a must. My harder trail wheeling days are probably mostly behind me, for awhile anyway. I don't need that financial strain right now on my daily with a kid lol. Unless I keep my truck just for that. So if I want a locker on a runner eventually I'll just get an aftermarket one.

    @Speedytech7

Rebuild spare power steering pump or just toss it in a parts bin?

I mean I have all the extra parts (new) for rebuilding.

This only makes the most sense; much more cost effective overall.

I'm gonna guess that's the first time it's even been changed so you have 300k to rebuild that other one for bench stock haha.

Remember, the best time to change your snowblower belt is after it's already snowing.

@Abeyancer does this drive gear get some red and tacky?

Weirdly, the pre-TRD only regular cab Tacomas could be had with a factory rear locker. I really don't know why they didn't offer it on the Extracab models or even the top-trim SR5, especially since after 1997 the single cabs were only offered with a 4 cylinder and no locker.

I'm fairly certain any model or trim could get it installed pre 1998 before TRD was a thing. Single and Xtra cab that is, double cabs weren't around until 2001. After 1998 only the TRD models came with them

It was like a $1500 option too. I have my trucks build sheet showing the option availability somewhere

Yeah spindle would be the next thing then maybe the UCAs are fucky, who knows. Unless I just straight tweaked my frame somehow back when, I doubt that's the case though.

Already working; same customer got me another mount he'll want me to cut for him.

    All 1/4" thick.

Modeling it up on both Fusion 360 and Draftsight.

Perfect. It looks like it's been dry for a long time. In FB market fashion whatever "tuneup" the business did seems to have just been to change the oil. This mfr still had an original belt on it lol

Do I grease the idler as well? I have a new one to go on

Pretty easy to tweak a spindle, one of mine is tweaked too. SPC uppers let me dial that out. But you can actually buy new knuckles on rock Auto now.

Damn that's spendy for a locker back in 1996. I wonder if they actually opened up the third to install one or if they just had elocked axles ready to swap in if ordered.
