Oh there will be some mods all right
So, Nissan frontiers have always been able to get a factory long travel suspension of sorts by swapping in Titan parts, I wonder if the new 4th gen Tacomas will be able to do the same with Tundra parts since they are going to be built on the same platform?

Ye olde Titan swap. Could also straight swap the 5.6L V8.

Would be very cool if the Tundra stuff bolted on to the Tacos..... Hmmm.....

In theory the frames should be exactly the same. Mounting points though? Those could be different. Won't know till it's here.

It’ll get done. When I receive the parts I’m waiting on.

Nice to see something different for once though. Every engine swapped wheeler either has a Cummins or a TDI

Cummins have their own issues. I do like the R2.8, but that little banger is heavy..nowhere near as heavy as a 4BT though.

I just wish we could get some new performance options instead of rehashing the same engines over and over. Toyota...make a successor to the 2JZ already! Chevy...make a better engine than the LS platform. Ford at least came out with the coyote later than both of them! Dodge at least came out with the hemi and hellcat powerplants. I feel like tech gets better but we just rehash the same underpowered engines across the boards. Why isn't anyone pushing the envelope with Power AND MPG. Where's the ambition? Maybe I'm just looking at all these hybrids and turbo'd l4s and wondering why we don't design something better. Instead they make vehicles wider/longer/taller/etc to keep pushing the same MPG numbers under cafe law and never innovate. Our EPA is dumb too with choking the industry as well. Why can you get badass diesel options overseas with way better MPG than anything in the states but somehow they think burning less fuel means more emissions in the long run....

I mean the hemi designs came out in the '70s and are nothing exciting. Also you're wanting more power and miles per gallon... Then you complain about the turbo 4s which are exactly what you're asking for, more power and fuel economy so...

Also with Toyota rehashing engines like the 2GR for decades, that thing's been through quite a few iterations and it's one of the most reliable platforms ever built.
