Seems like they do what they want in any order anyway. Eforms came out and people were getting them in 60 days, now it looks like they are only focusing on the backlog of paper forms

Well my brief foray into being a felon "because we said so" has come to an uneventful end. It wasn't nearly as much fun as I had been lead to believe. Maybe I should have trafficked cocaine or something instead.

I'm keeping my parts though. I do have a legal SBR and may decide to put the brace on it at some point. I occasionally shoot with a friend who lost substantial use of his hands due to an unfortunate incident with a lawn mower as a teenager.

Unless the pistol was already listed on your trust prior to 01/12/23 you still have to pay the $200, unless you file as an individual

Negative, it's before it gets posted to the federal register, which it has not yet been done, at least as of yesterday.

You may want to check the eforms site. I was on there yesterday and it said the pistol must be in your trust prior to 01/12/23. I started an eForm last week.

I thought this was interesting. It's about why SBR's even exist.

I've already got one SBR, a can, and two more cans in progress, so I'm not too worried about the feds knowing what I have. I was planning to SBR the lower for my short 300BO before this particular fecal matter hit the rotating oscillator, and my plans haven't changed. I've already got my trust done (just need it notarized), I've got my finger print cards and all of the other documentation put together. It's just a matter of notarizing the trust and submitting the eForm.

I mean, technically that would be the correct terminology. Problem is, the ATF doesn't have the legal authority to do that for 10-40 million occurrences. the NFA requires that collection. So what happens if they get called on it in court and now they send out bills for those stamps?

You'll still need to pay the NFA tax to transfer to trust after registering as individual first

Couldn’t he just pay the 200 first and add it to the trust and cut out half the paper work and extra wait time?

I’m in the same boat, already have a few cans in a trust and was wanting to sbr a lower anyway and depending on the outcome of this current fiasco I might one day but the backlog that’s going to come from this latest stunt will take months to catch up on on the low side.

I still wish the atf would go bye bye and suppressor’s and sbr’s/sbs’s wouldn’t need a stamp and just be a regular gun like everything else.
