good question, cheaper, probably. Easier, lol bolt on twin turbo kit, that’s like a weekend job lol But my theory which is probably different than others, the LF3/LF4 engines are made for boost. 3.5 Toyota engines are not unless built to be. I’d rather not open a motor up unless I have to. 500hp is easy with the LF platform I’d be there with a tune, but I’m in no hurry to get there. I wanted a truck that does great on the interstate and still capable off road.

hope that kinda answers your question

Where do you source the motors from?

much respect for the OP. very interesting, thank you for sharing.

i thought i was badass when i installed my bed mat right side up and with the logo oriented correctly, on the first try and without YouTube! last week i removed the OE mud flaps and put all the bolts back in the right spot.

lately i have been losing sleep mulling over removing the chin strap.

I would pay mucho money for a full kit for this swap. I see a business opportunity.

Honestly this has got to be one of the best threads on TW.

I disagree with you, I have a 3.91 rear gear like l said, if you want to come over and count it be my guest, what experience do you have with the Colorado transmission? The 8l45?

Not the AT, 3.91 as OP stated.

You're right. The MT has the the 4.3, not the AT.

    Beautiful work!

I’m an imbecile when it comes to swaps but how does this play with the stock gauges? Will you need an aftermarket pod to make the speedo and tach work? I’m assuming nothing plays together right now but is that on the list?

I love how stock it looks with no stupid through the hood dump pipe or anything like that. Very well done!

This is where I’m at at the moment until I have more time to figure the small details out for tach and temp gauge

Speed works just fine since it’s ran off the ABS sensors
