So my A/C coil bought the barn.... A big barn.

Trying to get it off and the retainer clip broke and now I'm at a lose as to what to try next. Jamming it with a screw driver isn't working. It's pretty well seized up. Anyone have any ideas as to what I should try next to get this off before I try my hand at some surgical grinding?20230116_215427.jpg

sorry man, you might need to price a whole compressor.
I was in the exact same fix many years ago on a camry, and after I replaced just the clutch/coil, the seal in the snout of the compressor leaked like crazy. It wouldn't hold a charge so I ended up having to buy a compressor anyway. Sadly the design seems to self destruct when the clutch goes.

Got it off! So wedged a screw driver on the bottom side and a prybar where the wire for the coil should be. I was able to rotate the thing just enough to loosen the stuck clip and pop it out.

    Looked like this

I have a new coil on the way and I'll see if I messed up the compresser at all.
    :fingerscrossed:
