Toyota Trademarks Four New BZ Model Names
These new names are also comprised of the letter “C” which could indicate they are two-door vehicles, or have coupe-like design.

How about the 'BZ1T' ? Could mean 'Truck' When that happens we know what could be...

    You go for it Wyoming.

With your (2018 data per https://www.autosinnovate.org/resources/insights/wy) ~638K of cars, 26K of new car sales and a whole lotta electric (61 of those 26K sold in 2018) I’m sure you are going to make a difference.

Seriously, that is how democracy works. Their population can tell their elected officials to choose limiti their automotive choices and inhibit competition. I’m sure the gas and oil industry is grateful. And that’s OK, if that’s how they want to spend their time and effort so be it. Good luck.

Of course they can do what they want. To me it's just political theater. But that's what politics is. It's still just a bill being considered. If that's all Missouri has to offer it's people is oil that's a pretty terrible run state.

    Correction, Wyoming

Good for Wyoming. It’s no different than the CA legislature banning new ICE whiffle sales after 2030. If they are doing what the people who elected them want done then they are doing their job properly.

Well at least the people elected in Wyoming do what the people in their state want. So many others do what they want to do and ignore those that elected them.

Waiting for someone to say I can’t have my horses as they pollute.

Well, it turns out the Wyoming effort is a proposed resolution and not an actual law.

    https://www.thedrive.com/news/wyomings-proposed-ev-ban-is-the-worst-kind-of-performative-art

That’s way less interesting and useful than them actually pushing for a law. They want to send a copy of the resolution to the Governor of California. OK…. Maybe they remembered that Wyoming coal and natural gas gets turned into electricity for…..electric cars?

In other news I had reached out to the local Mazda dealer in 2022 regarding the upcoming CX-70, specifically the PHEV version.

They just sent me an email that the CX-70 is getting near. I asked them to clarify if it is the PHEV variant.

If yes, will make a refundable deposit to get in line for a CX-70 PHEV.

Currently in month 10 of having refundable deposit in place on a RAV4 Prime (PHEV as many know). As Toyota builds to inventory and not to order best guess from the dealer is ‘middle 2023’.

So, I recently put a refundable deposit on an RX500F due to being tired of waiting on RAV4P.

I will be critical of Toyota - They invented the mass adoption hybrid, they have over a year waitlist on the RAV4P and yet they are not filling the market demand.

Eventually, there will be alternative(s). I’ll vote with my $$$ if the CX-70 PHEV or the Lexus is a winner and available first.

Come on Toyota, see the demand on the R4P, fill the demand. And yes, I do realize Lexus is Toyota.

EVs designed with being 100% recyclable.

    https://www.technologyreview.com/2023/01/17/1066915/tesla-former-cto-battery-recycling/

    from the article:

“All of those materials we put into a battery and into an EV don’t go anywhere. They’re all still there. They don’t get degraded, they don’t get compromised—99% of those metals, or perhaps more, can be reused again and again and again. Literally hundreds, perhaps thousands of times.”. -

“I think this entire new sustainable economy as we’re envisioning it, with everything electrified, simply can’t work unless you have a closed loop for the raw materials. There aren’t enough new raw materials to keep building and throwing them away; it would fundamentally be impossible.”

In a strange way this whole thing gives me comfort that I'm not alone. It seems that at least two states have magicians for politicians. Every year they come up with some red meat law, resolution, what ever, for their rabid base. Using the old magician's trick of watch this hand not that one, their base and the other side focus on the red meat. While both sides are growling, snarling, howling, and whining every news cycle is consumed with Bull Shit. The politicians know it won't pass, but while the populace is distracted they can quietly pass a bill that is good for the politicians and bad for the people in general.

    well that was easy

now , to convince car manufacturers its profitable to keep a separate assembly line building ICE models of their cars for the lucrative Wyoming market while the entire rest of their production moves to electric and hybrids
