I thought you posted that your truck needed a modified inspection and you mentioned that the modified windshield decal was larger. Maybe I read your post wrong lol.

    WTF? WOW!
If your going Bilstein's I recommend 6112's in the front and 5160's with remote reservoir in the rear. I've running this setup since 2018 and I have no complaints.
My actual setiup is 6112's & 5160's with a single additional booster sprint added to the leafs and a 1/4" spacer lift on the front to compensate for my front center bumper and 12k winch.

I know my truck looked much different once I lifted it 2-1/2" - 3".
Same wheels and tires - 33". It just looked "better". IMO.

I gotcha, no sir. No modified inspection here. The people at the DMV told me I would need one when I explained the vehicle to them. They told me its based on bumper height. “Any vehicle raised in altitude by any means.” Thats what they told me. But….the guy that did my inspection came out and saw all the nice parts on it and said “i dont have no problem with this son, looks like you did a helluva nice job. Lets go getchu a regular sticker.” :anonymous: :spy: I’ll take it.

Because modified inspection stickers are 2-3x the size of regular ones and they cost considerably more. One place told me $25, another told me $45. So it’ll take me 10 years at $15 an inspection, to reach the cost of one maryland $150 inspection. Since Maryland is all proud of themselves and think they can continually raise the prices of them. I remember when an MD inspection was $79.95

That’s what happens when you privatize “state” inspections. It’s a money grab.

tbh it's what happens when you "have mandatory inspections" to "mitigate" less than 2% of whatever happens while folks are driving. It is ALL a money grab with no measurable benefit.

@Fire Arrow I got the '23 Pro from Hanover. Put a deposit on it the day it hit their site mid-November. Very pleased with the experience.

The '19 I got at Koons.

Years ago (probably 20+ at this point) New Jersey would check items like headlight alignment.

As much as I don’t want any type of inspection/emissions test, if you’re gonna do it, at least check things that matter. I hate being blinded by modified headlights.

Any recommendations for an audio installer in MD that knows their shit as far as working on 2nd Gen Tacomas go? I have an OEM 2014 JBL head unit with nav and satellite radio that I want to install in my 2013. My 13 is a JBL with nav and satellite radio as well, I just like the look of the 14/15 head-units more.
I would do it myself but it is not plug and play and I will need additional wiring and/or splicing which I do not feel comfortable doing myself. Also, the fact that my truck has the JBL setup makes it all the more complicated. Anyways, I know there are a plethora of audio installer locations but I don’t want a halfassed or jerryrigged setup. I would prefer to take it to a facility that knows their shit, specifically, working with Tacomas with the stock JBL head units. I would like the installation and wiring of my 2013 to mirror that of a stock 2014 setup, at the very least as close as possible.
I know some of you might say take it to a dealership, please don’t, dealerships are the last place I would take my truck to have it worked on.
    Thanks guys!

Can’t help with a suggestion, but why put an outdated OEM unit in? Why not go for a new CarPlay/Android Auto capable unit?

I prefer a stock look, and yes, even if outdated. Besides I already bought the damn thing, lol. The 14/15 JBL head-units w/Nav are not cheap and highly sought after, also I got mine at a great price!

Fair enough. Just a lot of work for outdated tech.

Agreed but I’m not a complicated guy. Bluetooth and Nav, don’t need much more than that.
