    Informal poll…

    For breakfast, should I?

    A couple of honey buns and coffee and call it good

    Go to Mickey D’s for biscuit and hash browns

    Fry up bacon and eggs

    Stick a Jimmy Dean’s sausage, egg, cheese biscuit in the microwave

    Stock. SR5 Package #2.

    :101010::101010::101010:

    Chamfered edge, nice touch.

    Using a surface planer is something of an art.
    I've owned 3 over the years and each one behaved slightly differently.

    The usual cause of sniping is that there can be a little shudder or bounce when the piece passes out of contact with the first drive roller.

    It seems to me that when you get that little bounce, it's because of one or both of these:

    1) Dull blades. This is the biggie.
    2) You've lowered the head too far for a pass.. which can be aggravated if there's a knot or just a harder spot in the wood.
    This is of course related to #1 above.

    Be alert to any change in the note of the sound the planer makes which indicates it's bogging down, even slightly.
    I found that I could cut down on sniping if I did things in batches.
    One piece following another, the back end of the leading piece in contact with the front end of next.

    But sniping is gonna happen :notsure:
