I like how they called it a Phase Out... like anything has been phased in. There's 10 people living there full time, if two of them drive their EVs over to MT it could be considered a phase out haha

My 5x7 headlights would be easy to tint. But probaby not go that well.

I'll just go back to Halogens.

lol yeah how stupid is that? they all think another oil boom and coal boom is going to come

Not that I love current EV offerings either but this is just a publicity stunt.

Actually, and I don't fully rememeber this, I know Wyo was really struggling with some kind of mandate or something where EV charging stations had to be every like..25 miles or something? Maybe for federal funding? Can't remember.

Anyways, Wyoming be like "what? We can't afford to do that, we don't even have towns within 100 miles of eachother much less 25."

Thus "phasing out EV" was born lol

They were talking about road taxing the crap out of EV's some how too.

WA is currently restructuring how road tax is collected with the growing number of EVs, I'm sure that will be a growing pain for a lot of states. I wonder if the EV charging federal funding includes Tesla superchargers... it would be disingenuous since only one brand can use them but they also help facilitate installing those.

well it won't. Gotta move past that no matter what.

I just think EV's are just 1 step forward 3 steps back kind of situation.

Toyota will bring on the Hydrogen stuff and in 15-20 years that'll be the way to go when Lithium prices skyrocket and everyone realizes that EV's are still strapped to a natural resource just like ICE's are.

Yeah idk. I know Rivian was trying to get a network of their own superchargers too.

I though they had made it so other brands can use it just not at the super fast charge rate?? idk?

It's not a law and more of a recommendation and a strongly worded letter to the president and California. I can understand the view point of seeing it as a threat to the states income due to oil not being an insignificant resource the sell to other states that do have the infrastructure for EV. On the flip side they will be exporting a lot more coal for power plants to charge the EVs so maybe it's a wash? Or maybe it's our polarized nature, a guy wearing a blue shirt bans gas cars so a guy wearing a red shirt feels he has to do the opposite, ban ev regardless if it is a reasonable or logical thing to do.

The only benefit of the EV craze is the potential boom for my work as companies are already bidding CM stateside to build charges with the federal money available with the recent bills passed

I have zero problem with EVs, a good chunk of our gas is currently going to Cali for WELL over market value for their gas power plants.
Not just for EVs obviously but still.

Amber colored headlights are still illegal in the US. In Europe they are Ok. The idea is right though, a halogen colored light is the way to go. Just wont be able to get there from what you have right now.

I almost bought a pair of SS5s from HotShots during his 30% off Black Friday sale. Would have been something like $700 for 4K Pros (swapped lenses) + wiring. Ultimately I decided that I really didn't need another set of forward facing lights. lol

The idea of a 3rd gen T4R is intriguing. I am considering one too.

Is your GFC for a 5' or 6' bed?

Did you give up on the idea of building your own?

Not entirely, There's a couple reasons I still want to do that design I posted, one is the LBJ gets replaced with a spherical bearing and the other being it pulls 15" of travel without any major bumpsteer. I could have that design off to Send/Cut/Send and weld it up just to try, couldn't be that expensive.

What uppers and COs would you use with that setup.

The uppers would be another assembly for me to weld just like the lowers. I have upper and lower control arm files for driver and passenger side. It is designed for an 8" CO, there are differences in 8" COs so it is recommended to weld the lower tabs on after checking for full cycle with which ever you choose. I'd just have to find some in the LT classifieds.

I think it was at one time mandated in some euro counties. It would be interesting to see if people would really be stopped for that here. People have stupid bright LED fogs on all the time, my led lights now probably aren't legal, I gotta think there are bigger fish to fry but then again...

I'm not a fan of the newer styles, on the inside anyway. We both like the style and feel of 1st gen/3rd gen era. Kid is good, fun, but exhausting at times, miss the personal time the most, I'm sure if I got it back though I wouldn't know what do to with myself lol

Sounds like the same reason Ill be selling my Tacoma. Access cab just doesnt work for four people lol. We wanted a 4runner but lucked into a good Sequoia for a good price so ended up with that. With that said we do have a Silverado on order >.>

Tesla is slowly working on opening up their network to other brands. Mainly in the EU right now though. but wouldnt be surprised if it comes to the US soon enough. Hell most rest areas along I-90 from Wy to CT had 4+ Superchargers and never anyone use them. Open them up to everyone.

Yeah it's in pretty good shape, has some quirks though which is why it was probably still available by the time she got down the list of people before us. Nothing that I can't handle though
