This isn't quite as amusing as the 1st Gen DC Tacoma from a couple years ago, which clearly photographed in the snow, that the scammer tried to claim was in Florida...

The wording alone gives that one away.

This reminds me of when my best friend John was looking for a used Nissan Maxima and found a 2007 Maxima for like $2,500 (Keep in mind this was in 2010), but it was on CL and not FB. The ad said that the woman selling the car had gotten it in a divorce, that it was paid off, and she just wanted it gone. It seemed like a legit "jilted lover" situation, and comparable Maximas were going for close to twenty grand at the time. My friend contacted this woman, and she said that she did not have a driver's license, but he was free to test drive it. This is when it was revealed that this woman lived in Las Vegas, and that's where the car was located, even though it was listed in the Philadelphia section of CL. There was nothing about the ad itself that gave off any red flags, and it was only when we found out that the car was in Nevada that we became weary. The ad had plenty of pictures and a well-written, though short, description of the car. It was a beautiful car, red with a beige leather interior, but needless to say my friend did not buy that Maxima. He ended up buying a silver 2010 Maxima SL with a black leather interior with like 38K miles for less than $20K, at local dealership right here in the Philly burbs!
