    Work in progress...
It reminds me of the ocarina effect from the lower control arms.

Yes I am getting the same noise on my 2021 TRD Pro. Just bought it 3 days ago and noticed it on the drive home. Got it on video too. At :24, 1:25 and 1:59

So glad I’m not the only one that has heard this sound. Bought mine a month ago and was worried. She’s my first truck, and I’m no mechanic...

Bumping this thread since I just bought a TRD Sport and am having the same whistling sound when accelerating out of 2-3gear around 2300RPM or so. A few seconds of whistle then it’s gone. Truck only has 30 miles on it.

it’s actually surprisingly easy to reproduce.

I’ve been reading the other similar posts and it seems to be an AC thing??

It is not serious and it can be fixed. The factory just didn't add enough coolant oil to the A/C.

Take your vehicle back to the dealer and tell them that the coolant system does not have enough oil in it and needs between 100ml and 150ml added in 50ml increments. There is a TSB on this and if they reach out to Toyota Tech, they can get the instructions.

Since I had an additional 150ml of oil added to my A/C, the noise has not come back and I am in FL so the A/C is on almost all the time.

Before I had the extra oil added, I could reproduce that exact noise you posted every 30 seconds by simply turning my A/C on.

Sounds like the LCA howl to me.

Thank you for this. I’ll get in touch with the dealership and let them know about the AC oil being low and to try and find a TSB on it. Not sure when I’ll get in for an appointment. Hopefully soon!

Only thing is that it’s on acceleration and it goes away quickly (and sounds like it’s coming from inside the cab) I’ll do more tests to see if I shut the AC off when it’s happening if it immediacy stops, that will really confirm if it’s the AC or not.

    Appreciate your reply.

    Thanks for the reply!
Did you have the same problem too? If so how was it fixed? Just replacing the valve or did you have to have the dealer recharge the system or add compressor oil?

Any idea is a TSB exists on it?

Thanks for any details, just trying to get as much info a possible for the dealer.

New here and have the same problem with my 4 cyl 2021 taco. Dealer said there was nothing they can do and everything was functioning normally, even though they could hear the whistle as well. They said it was the AC expansion valve under load and was just built that way. Horrible excuse for a brand new vehicle. I'm interested if anyone has found a TSB on the low AC coolant/oil issue because I cant find it anywhere. I'd like to take that back to the dealer and show them what's up.

My "new-to-me" 2020 Tacoma SR-5 4x4 (11k miles on it) with the V6 just started today with the same intermittent noise. Haha! That a/c is weird. It definitely does not sound like any transmission or rear axle noise. Well, at least I'm not the only one with the singing Tacoma. Lol.:)

That is the A/C expansion valve. Same on my truck! I've been to the dealer twice for this and they wont do a thing about it! It's normal they say. See if it does it with the A/C off......

My dealer put the same part number back in the first attempt to get this fixed under the TSB... after I warned them multiple times to check before they started pulling my dash apart. The new part number doesn't actually supersede the old one.

    You gotta be kidding me.
I will explicitly tell them NOT to tear the dash apart. If they won’t add oil, I’ll do it myself.

Just oil might not fix it.
