I just picked up a 2023 Tundra today. Toyota was just dragging their feet too long with the 4th gen Tacomas and I couldn't wait 2 more years, nor did I want a 3rd gen. I found a Tundra locally that was the color and equipped just the way I wanted that was somehow unclaimed. What could I do?

I did not trade my 2009 Tacoma. Still not sure what I am going to do with it. It is in perfect mechanical shape, has new OEM headlights, seat heaters, Pioneer Nav head unit, Focal speakers/tweeters & Pioneer shallow subwoofer, Clifford alarm and remote starter, Pace Edwards retractable tonneau cover, and 1 year old real Toyota TRD pro wheels shod with Michelin LTX. I may sell it if there is any serious interest. Or I may drive it down to my mom's place and leave it there for when I visit. We'll see. Sidelining the Tacoma was the hardest thing to do. I love it. But, we needed more space for our travels and more load space for upcoming projects.

Even though I will be spending time on Tundra forums I'll still be coming around here to see what's happening. This is a great forum.

Nice. That will be my next choice of color also.

Beautiful looking truck! That’s absolutely what I would buy if I needed a full size pickup.

Who knows, I may come back to a Tacoma in 2025 or so. I was not a fan of the 3rd gen's powertrain and honestly my 2nd gen is in really good shape and has some add-ons such that a 3rd gen would not even be an upgrade. Not going to install AT tires on the Tundra and no lift. Height is perfect the way it is. I want to keep MPG as good as possible and I won't be doing any serious off road. Although I could maybe see going to 295s in the all seasons. I probably would have gone with an SR5 Sport except Toyota long ago stopped putting Bilsteins in the Sports. My 2009 Tacoma did come with Billies and I love them.

Except the Sport has body color mustache and rear bumper inserts instead of the ridiculous chrome on the OR. I know those can be wrapped or painted... Future project.

I reached a point in 2016 where I needed a full size truck. My options at the time were.

A: Trade the Tacoma for a new truck

B: Keep the Tacoma and look for a good used truck

I chose option B and ended up with a 2-year-old F150 Supercrew. The out-of-pocket cost to me would have been pretty much the same either way.

I made a good choice that 7 years later I do not regret.

Great color for old Navy guys. Is it machine grey, bulkhead grey or battleship grey?

Not exactly. Lunar Rock has some blue or green in it depending on the light. But this pic does look really gray. But my boat (submarine) was black, not gray like those targets!
