If you decide to take the carb off and give it a clean you should remove the plug over the a/f screw while you have it out. Mine was way off and tuned really rich from the factory. Really helped with how well it started, too. Also hell of a deal, nice!

It's a second gen X Runner! It's still factory ride height (but it was lowered from the factory?). I just got it a few days ago but with the job loss I'm going to sell it when the title comes in. :(

Will do, thanks! For now I'll just try riding it and seeing if it helps. It definitely feels very rich and kind of stutters while idling.

Idle screw is adjustable with the carb still on the bike, I'd try bumping it clockwise like a quarter turn to help out at idle. (Brass screw in the middle-ish of the carb, left side of the bike) Mine idled super low from the factory, too, which didn't help given how lean it was running. Honestly might just be on the edge of dying from too low of an idle. I'm guessing headlight flickers at that low of an idle? I'd bump it up until the headlight stays bright with barely any flicker. The wiring on these is done in a weird way. Headlight is run AC instead of DC and is directly off the stator, not the battery, so RPM of the engine has a huge effect on it.

Sweet! I love minitrucks as you could probably guess. My buddy had a 1990 Toyota pickup - bagged, body dropped, turbo charged, suicide doors it was awesome
