Haiden was supposed to start later this season, but maybe sooner? Interestingly, the Deegan38 YouTube channel mentioned the family was leaving NC for Tallahassee FL yesterday.

I grew up racing BMX with Jeremy McGrath. Use to beat him up on the BMX track.
But when we got on the Honda dirt bikes it was a whole other story. I knew he would
be something special at Motocross. So I've witnessed special 1st hand. And Deegan
has it. The kid is only 16. Even at 10 I knew he would be special as long as he stayed
healthy. He is way ahead of the curve. Once Haiden's body grows and he gets muscles
he will find that other gear. James Stewart and Ryan Villapoto had it too. They both did
things on tracks that other riders couldn't do. Haiden Deegan will be that next superstar
as long as he stays healthy and doesn't let his head get too big. :bikewhoops:

I think you also need to add: As long as his father doesn’t pressure him too much and he gets burnt out. There is so much hype about him being the next greatest. Will he be able to mentally handle turning pro and not immediately winning. Will he ride over his head and crash out.

I think Deeg will do very well. I'm on the Ferry train, but can't deny Deeg rips. Plus idk where tf Evan has been the last 6 months...
Deeg cleaned house at Mini O's, and 13th at Fox in his second pro moto is no joke (Ironman he pretty much crashed himself out). As pompous as the Deegans are, Brian has it in his kids best interest. Gonna be an exciting pro debut.

You never know what will happen. Some kids burn out early, some kids don't handle the transition to pro very well. Others peak later etc. Someone mentioned Villopoto. He wasn't supposed to be the guy. Alessi beat him regularly and was the next big thing. As we saw, their pro careers went separate directions. Dungey was a B rider that caught Decosters eye but no hype to be great. Ciancarulo and Forkner, 2 of the most hyped Am riders. Not great pro careers so far etc etc. Deegan shows promise. I think he will do well, maybe even be great but history shows that it's not as much of a sure thing as it might seem.

Mental strength plays a big role in this sport. I think Ryan Villipoto's grandfather had a lot to do with his success and he was a great mental coach for RV.

Haiden seems nervous at times when he's on the practice track with the pros, but he's getting better. Brian should let him step up this season even if he doesn't podium his first race. I think once he gets a few pro races under his belt he'll step into his own.

I think you are absolutely right. RV's grandfather was a huge influence and just the situation also made him thrive. His family wasn't rich and they were all in, banking on him to succeed. No fall-back plan. Sometimes kids like Haiden who know they are going to be set regardless, don't have that extra drive. It seems like Brian has tried to project that on to Haiden as best as he can (good on him.) But you can't replicate something like that, when it's not there. Also, a big thing that top Am riders struggle with is, they go through their whole Am career on top bikes. So they have a big equipment advantage on most of their competition. But once you reach the pros, that goes away and a lot of people lose it mentally because they have to fight much harder than they ever had to in Ams. I believe that sort of was a big thing that Alessi never overcame. Again though, who knows. I like Deegs. I'm excited for him and want to see him do well. But nothing is a given.

Well here are the Star bikes w the new look. A little more blue but not as much as I expected. Weird that now they actually are using the black fender (but still blue shroud.) Either way, I knew something was changing/coming but didn't know exactly what lol. Looks cool though.

It's just a matter of where he's at speed wise compared to the others. Get a good feel for the plans and reasoning behind them if you watch the YT channel.

I don't think Brian pressures him at all. I think he genuinely wants to make sure he's ready to make the jump before he actually makes it. He's certainly proud and wants to see Haiden get to the top, but he knows it takes time. His first outdoors was the wake up call that he needed to settle down.
