So my Soft tri fold tonneau from 2014 is destroyed and I am in the market for a replacement. I’ve narrowed myself down to two options.

Was gonna say look at the Lomax, but I don’t think they make em for 2nd gens.

 

Thats part of why i kind of want to just get the extang before they discontinue it. Tons of places are already no longer stocking it for 05-15s

 

Personally I won’t run a soft cover. Not that the hard covers are thief proof, but it’s a bit more of a deterrent.

So my vote goes to your favorite hard cover that’s in stock.

 

Im not sure of the cross fit between 2nd and 3rd Gens… but I have a practically brand new OEM hard tonneau cover. It was outside for about 6 months on the truck and now resides in my basement. I think it needs to find a new home!! It’s practically brand new. For a short bed if you or anyone is interested…??

Morning all… today is a great day!!

On this day many years ago, my mothers parents were married. I only wish they were still here with us! They were incredible people!


Also on this day, 14 years ago… my first four-legged child was born. My best friend, Brodie! Happy birthday buddy!


And lastly, on this day 11 years ago on a snowy winters night, my amazing twins were born! Jackson and Bailey! Happy birthday guys!! They grow up so fast! Try not to blink too much, you’ll miss it!!

I’m trying not to put too many miles on the truck until I get it to the shop to have a proper alignment done next week. It’s like trying to hold in a sneeze times 1,000 lol

 

I hear ya… I wanted to drive mine all the time after the lift install… but knew right away after driving home my alignment was way out. It didn’t really pull or anything, but you could definitely look and see how far in my toe was, and a bit of negative camber as well. I put the kit on at a friends shop in Hagerstown and drove an hour and an half home to Westminster and could just feel the tires fighting each other the whole way. And we all know, it doesn’t take many miles to screw up a set of tires!

What all did you add?

 

Thats another major selling point.

Unfortunately you dont have a long bed version

additionally, this is what a third gen cover looks like on a second gen:



the bed is no longer, but the tail gate on third gens is much wider

 

That’s exactly my situation too, except I only added new tires. I went from 265/75/16 General Grabbers to 285/275/16 Yokohama Geolandar g003’s.

I would guess the alignment probably isn’t too far off because the new tires are only about 1.5” taller, but I can tell just by looking at the truck that the camber is off on the front tires. I think I’ll be able to keep it under a couple hundred miles before the alignment so hopefully that won’t tear up my tires.
