You all think it's fine if past my throttle body looks like the mud pits at Tahuya?

I can't reach any further in to clean it.

Pic of it before (throttle body was cleaned):

You should be asking how is mud getting to that point. Since it should be more or less "sealed" past the air filter

If you have the TB off its only a couple more bolts to take the whole intake off and then you can clean it.

Suprisingly not that dirty. I doused it in cleaner and didn't get a pic.

This was throttle body before cleaning it:

It is probably not mud. It’s carbon from the PCV. That’s how it looks on black plastic with camera flash.

This reminded me to actually go and check to see how it's doing. It's not exactly 'fixed' but it's good enough for me. The RTV silicone around the plug head is working! No signs of leaks. This is after multiple offroading trips and a road trip to Kansas and back.

I was hoping it was something like this and not mud. I should have mentioned that wiping out that area was black soot and not mud.

It’s hardly worth the effort to clean up. This is just what happens due to the PCV system. If you use good quality fuel and good synthetic oils, and change it frequently, you get less buildup, but it really doesn’t affect performance in a measurable way given port injection.

Well you’re looking at TW’s newest homeowner, unless the seller backs out last minute we should have a place secured shortly.

Thanks, relocating to the Covington area. Stoked on what we found, having a great realtor makes a huge difference…especially when the other realtor has only sold four houses before

Wish i had them. The sellers agent lifted pictures of when it sold previously and didn’t include it in the listing…which helped us out bigtime because it didn’t show the 25x34 barn/shop

i think she realized she screwed up because the listing has gotten A LOT more detailed since we put in our offer

    Congrats!

And im surprised the sellers didnt review the listing first. that's what our realtor did when we went to sell. Showed us the listing prior it going live so we could make sure everything was correct

C6858762-A803-43C4-B6F3-D7AE034AFC49.jpg That has to be the most annoying thing that I’ve broke in my truck. The lid wants to flip up and it’s like when the dog wedges its nose under my elbow trying to sneak up to the front seat.
