Little bit more progress.

 

Well, with the LT project on hold, I did a little shopping and running around to finish up getting all the parts for the dual case install.

Picked up some 1.75x.120 DOM to make a skidplate cross member. Along with 2'x4' sheet of 1/4 inch, to make the RF1A mount plate, some bolt plates for the x member and there's also enough to skin the x member.

Also ordered the bolts to mount the RF1A mount to the mounting plate, as well as to attach the mount to the case.

After some deliberation, I decided to go with the RF1A mount from 4xinnovations.

 

Well, that should be the last of the parts I need for the dual cases.

 

Did you get a heavy duty spring for the crawlbox?

 

Soooo... now, what do I have to order? lol

 

A heavy duty spring for the detent ball on the crawlbox shifter. It goes over the stock spring and keeps the box from popping out of gear. Marlin usually has them in stock. lol

 

Anyone else sell those? Fuck Marlin.

 

Know idea. I got mine from Marlin. When they have shit in stock they actually ship it pretty quick. lol

Did you have to cut your hi/low shift rail?

 

Mine came precut from yotamasters in the shifter kit I ordered.

So, are we talking the high low shift rail inside the second case?

 

In the stock case.

 

What rail am I looking for. The rails don't look anything like the rail in their picture.

 

So... I'm assuming the cut shift rod in the stock case is referring to cutting the area near the shifter to make it so you can use twin stick.

Because the shift rail pictured in the instructions is not in the stock case. That rail (you have to cut 3/8 inch off of) is in the gear drive case. Being that the gear drive case is already assembled, that step does not apply here.

 

So.... I opened the J-shift case for basically no reason... lol.

The coupler doesn't fit through the output bearing on the Transmission.



The transmission shown, I believe, is manual. Mine is Auto... which shouldn't matter.



Even if the provided coupler fit in the trans... it wouldn't fit in the provided seal either.
