Anyone here can help source composite aluminum panels, alupanel, etc? Sign shops are not very enthusiastic when I am messaging them.

Maybe you’d get a better response if you Try massaging as opposed to messaging.

For pricing sake, these guys have prices online. Heres some product to make a classy woody. It looks like they have dealers around the GTA.
    3mm ACM PE – Teak – 4’x8′ – AL13

I like these panels for the flatness they maintain but at the cost of poke resistance. The Al skins ate typically 0.015". This may be fragile(with branches) but who knows with it being foam core composite. I have recently been thinking about designs and did a RoM estimate for a slide in shell, cab roof height, fully insulated with EPS (1-2"), steel frame and 2mm thick skin (including bed facing side). Looking at the numbers against the ACM panel, the ACM will be within 10lbs of the 2mm AL. The 2mm thickness sould prevent the ripely tin canning look of teh sheet and be strong enough to be structural. These donet look to be very insulative as they are thin with a specified R value of 0.0057.

Using online pricing and material properties the cost and weight is ~$3700 and 650lb (math is wrong in sheet for Al skin weight).

Taking advantage of above-freezing temps, replaced the phone mount with an ISaddle ‎CH-384. It comes with two magnetic heads, but I prefer to use my existing Garmin clip. The pre-applied adhesive tape on the base was crap, so I had to replace it with two strips of 3M molding tape.

Also installed a Rexing V3Plus dash cam with front and rear lenses:

^The SR5 has a basic rear view mirror with no electrical connector, so I'll have to tap into either the overhead console map lights (with an inline mini USB-12V adapter) or down the A-pillar into the glovebox. Lower priority. Need to deal with a sticking e-brake first. Then it's PCV valve, serpentine belt & pulleys, outer tie rod, diff oil, replacement spare tire, rear diff breather relocate, running board delete...

That’s a good question however, it’s not for sale…. Until I can’t push the clutch in anymore. My son and two nephews are first in line and then toyeclub Members can have a shot at the old girl if the family doesn’t want it.

That 96 is so beautiful with only 54,000 miles $25,000 US is a lot of money but she’s a beauty truck… Very similar to mine especially under the hood with the 3RZ and the tan interior is almost identical my dash is just a little nicer. Very interesting to see how that worked out as an investment compared to the original sticker price brand new.

I always tell people my truck is still worth what I paid for it in 2010 …..11K all in

I had to drive over three hours for my first ever and only trip to Scarborough to purchase it and drive back home.

^Thanks. It's a 13-year old 4Runner with some overdue maintenance items, need to keep it running reliably as a daily. Somehow I'm up to almost $2k in parts & accessory purchases :bananadead:

Replaced the interior light bulbs with LEDs. I chose a reputable brand to reduce the risk of frying the body control module. Map lights are Diode Dynamics DD0031P. Dome light is Diode Dynamics DD0292S. Cargo lights are Diode Dynamics DD0299P.

Comparison of DD cargo light LED vs stock filament bulb:

Replaced the PCV valve with Standard Motor P/N V504. Looks to be a repackaged OEM part with Toyota P/N etched on the wrench flat. "Shake test" with the removed valve (possibly factory original) shows the poppet doesn't move as freely.

^You're welcome to help out with the parking brake service lol. If you thought drum brakes were complicated, the 4Runner's parking brakes are next-level evil! The button springs holding the shoes to the backing plate need to be accessed through a little hole in the hub flange, about as easy as laparoscopic surgery...

    AL9nZEUjQ4sQ1Z_ePaCUf4YT6ffqJPCKGsejLvzZ_4240258acecef443965ad97f7479481e12419ef7.jpg

Everything replaced - shoes, levers, springs, all hardware... only to discover the rotor doesn't fit? Looks like the Bosch parking brake shoes are oversized.

On a positive note, the flare nut to the brake hose loosened without drama. Should be easy to replace the hose and caliper tomorrow.

My buddy has been struggling with rear disk brakes on his FJ. All the non-OEM pads seem to be made thicker, and cause the caliper to drag on the rotor. He failed with two sets of aftermarket pads, one was HD, one was supposed to be OEM equivalent.
