Make sure you remove them before you get any work done on the truck, They always lose them when they air up the tires.

It's the tow hook/recovery point from the Off-Road trim level. A bit beefier than the one that comes with the Sport versions. OP painted it Red instead of the stock black.

 

Screen protech. Took awhile to get all the bubbles out on the instrument panel as I used too much spray. Now it's nice and flat and I don't have to be irritated every time I get in my truck cursing Toyota for their S----Y plastic they use......

 

Cheap plastic "lattice-style" fencing in the truck box in the fall and winter. You park on a slight uphill, and then you can pull a foot of snow or a pile of brush and it just slides out in one big mass. Used it this morning to get ~6" of snow out of the bed before going out on various grocery errands...

 

Yeah the screen Protech is great. Were you able to get all the bubbles out? I have 2 still after installing last month and wonder if I should try poking them with a pin to see if they will go away or just leave them

 

I had two bubbles that I poked with a sewing needle. They then layed flat, I cannot see any puncture mark from the needle.

 

Gashole gets my vote.

 

With this cheap hack, you just put deck’d and all the other bed slider shelf manufacturers out of business!

 

How well does it hold up in cold weather? Another guy tried selling these for the instrument cluster, but stopped because they bubbled up and were faulty when they got cold. Too bad also, his design fit really well, just the materials were bad.

 

Holds up pretty good here in cold weather. Today's 34, the lowest temp had been 22 degrees although I installed during the summer which it was in the 80's. When I had the few bubbles was in late summer. I'm not certain about applying in cold weather, I would imagine warm is better.

 

It should be like any window tint. Once it dries temp shouldn’t really have an effect on it. Mine has been outside all day in temps as low as 6° when at work and it’s showed no change.

 

If you don't have a tonneau cover, you can use the two threaded inserts in the front of the box to make a little tie-down/hoist point. I used two Crosby M6 shoulder-nut eye bolts (with washers to get them to align properly) and a 5/8" stainless bolt, nut, and a bit of duct tape to get a reasonably strong attachment point in the center top of the front of the bed. I wouldn't use it to winch in a boat or an elk, but maybe a bicycle or a Xmas tree. You could just use the eye bolts alone if you wanted; they have a 19 mm (3/4") opening which works for most bungie cord hooks.

Yes, I see that they need cleaning (edit: washing them was fine, that "rust" was on top of the paint). See last photograph.

Updated: I see McMaster Carr sells a similar product in the M6 thread. Too bad the 316 stainless version only comes as small as M8.

 

Installed in the summer “heat”. Fine down to -15f so far this winter

 

I thought 1/2” shrink wrap for the headrests was pretty cool

Yup. I have a home-made platform with a 3-ft wide sliding box shelf underneath- it may work well with his idea too.

 

One of the first things I did when we got the truck. Two years later in decent (Colorado) heat and a few single-digit lows and the gauge cluster, HU, and gear indicator (center console) are all still in place and working appropriately, no complaints.
