All I know is, if Toyota makes it like a mini tundra and screws it up, sales will be really down. Glad I got a V6 when I did!

Very interesting! The next generation Ranger is high on my list. I hope you're cooking up my wildest dreams- Plug-in hybrid with heated and ventilated leather, please, and thank you!

Just get a 1794 or Capstone Tundra, or a PowerBoost King Ranch F-150.

Tacomas are supposed to be basic trucks.

The Land Cruiser 300 also has a front locker, so… at the very least you could probably swap that in with some shortened CV’s, or maybe the 4Runner/Prado will get the locker and the correct length axles to grab from. Who knows.

Apologies, I said Tundra but meant Land Cruiser, which shares the same platform (and coincidentally, would be a direct fit for the Tundra/Sequoia), post corrected.

Also, interestingly, the TRD Off Road and TRD Pro Tundra/Sequoia also use the double offset inner CV joint that the LC with diff lock uses, which is nice.

Interesting, so what is Toyotas excuse for not adding to atleast the Pro trim . I don't get it , a lot of us get the Tacoma due to the off road capability

I think it’s because of the new electromagnetic ADD being used. The diff lock actuator and ADD actuator live in the same space, so you can only have one or the other. The LC has full-time 4WD, so no ADD.

Retrofitting the factory front diff lock from a 300 would also kill ADD, which would be fine by me, but I guess not by Toyota.

Knowing that, I suppose there is probably a slim to no chance the Tacoma would get the front diff lock without further development. I can’t see Toyota skipping ADD on a part-time 4WD truck and I can’t see the new Tacoma coming with full-time 4WD.

I hope the power train has more power. The 3.5 is so anemic.

I would love to see the hybrid get mid 25 MPG with better payload and towing and a manual, but almost guaranteed the hybrid will be automatic only.

Ya, the ergonomics of the front seat and lack of steering wheel adjustment is so terrible. I'm 6' and got the seat jackers and they helped a TON

I have no issue with a Auto . I'm 42 and have driven my fair share of manuals . Pain in the ass to drink a coffee with a manual.
