And it’s not stupid. When you get as large as this site is, you need rules. You enforce those rules equally. If you followed the stuff that goes on, you would see why most rules have been enacted.

I don't mind. Rules are rules. I just wish they would make a page in the forum that is just for videos. I would love to see more Tacoma content from Tacomaworld members. Then people who are hateful, just don't have to go in that page.

 

I used that and sent in a message. No one can see the message but staff. It's been see 12 times and no reply.

What should we make out of that? Do they not care? Are they to busy to write a reply? I would think they are making money from the site.

 

Mods on here are not paid. I’m sure the site brings in a little ad revenue to pay overhead costs, but no one is getting rich.

Given that the staff donate their time and have real lives, give ‘em some time to respond. I’d be willing to bet they are looking into it and will respond.

Not to be negative, BUT..... with the amount of response I've gotten so far, I don't think they care much. It is what it is, I'm not mad.

 

I would like to ask/confirm re: the above: Will a direct link added here (TW) to a video created by a: "really well-known/genius-Toyota mechanic out there on YouTube" earn me (or others) a ban? Not trying to aggravate anyone: just looking to avoid getting the boot, temporary or otherwise.

 

Context is key. I'm no mod, but...

Starting a conversation about someone else's video in which you form an opinion and the average reader can guess from context without having to click on the link,

Is different than

Dropping your own video for the purpose of generating views and not spurring unique conversation.

The rule is what it is because a few assholes took it to the extreme and dropped their YT channel in multiple threads without any context, and a few of those videos might or might not have been exactly appropriate for a Tacoma forum. The rules of TW are much like why my job has rules banning the use of box cutters and stepladders. Every single one was generated because of some dumbfuck that invented a brand new form of dumbfuckery, thereby ruining it for the rest of us.
