So... any updates on the 2/18 run? Was there any decision on where we might wheel? If it's gonna be somewhere further north I am probably going to look into staying at a buddy's place in Sheboygan that Friday night to get going earlier in the morning.

I was thinking maybe the T.W.A.T, starting at Sparta and heading north. I'm open to ideas, as well. This is a section that I haven't been through in a few years.

 

I hadn't considered this. I would probably try car camping in the winter sometime.

Yes, there's a lot of blacktop, but a few gravel roads. And, there's a few areas that probably aren't maintained in winter which might be fun.

I think this area was just a nice ride through rural Wisconsin. I don't remember anything particularly interesting about it, but I remember enjoying the ride.

 

Are they ill-tempered gravel roads?

Ha! I gotta find a way to flex this new suspension soon.

 

The Black River Falls area has some more interesting stuff if I recall right.

 

I think there will be some areas that are not maintained, so maybe a little rough. Otherwise, anything can be ill tempered if you drive fast enough.

 

And with a couple of extra winches, fewer worries! I'm looking forward to this.

 

Yes this is mostly scenic blacktop although there was a cool section of horse/ATV trails that had some roads open to motor vehicles in Clark County just south where I and M meet. When I went through there in October the tails were bit twisty and rough. It was fun after being on the road for so long. I would also be down for some winter camping.
