I’m 5’9”. I tried the seat jackets. I didn’t care for them. They made things worse for me. Their customer service is excellent. I returned them and they quickly refunded my money. But I seem to be in the minority when it comes to Tacoma owners with regard to seat jackers. And for me with the manual transmission I find the seating position just right. And I think I’ll get mine supercharged at some point but for now the power is fine.

I agree with you. I don’t understand why so many here insist on a manual for a daily driver. A manual in a track car or Sunday driver is fun by why everyday? I see no benefit.

Autos have come a long way , and yeah the hunting but that was improved by my 18 model . My 2021 doesn't hunt , 6 gears suck regardless if it's a manual or Auto lol. I really hope we get an 8 spd Auto on this next one

It’s definitely time for an 8 speed transmission and better mpg.

Depends on what your “everyday” is. Mine is 5 miles down a highway and two stop lights. As you could imagine, that’s not much of a burden. If I drove in bump to bumper for 30 minutes, I’m with you.

Tuning the V6 won't do diddly-squat to increase power.

And you may not see any benefit for you; for me, the benefit of a manual is huge; to each his/her own.

More control, being in the right gear at the right time, no gear hunting..., the list goes on.

Manuals are a blast with a porsche or m car ,for me a midsize truck is not the right application for “fun” engaging driving experiences.

The take rate across all autos in US is like 1.4%, but certain cars like gt3 or wrx have super high % sold. Consumers on the whole decided decades ago that manuals are inferior. Growing up manuals were faster but that changed around a decade ago.Now modern automatic sport cars constantly post quicker times.

For purists the manual is engaging , for the average consumer it hinders screwing around with your phone or Starbucks while driving.

I want to feel connected and one with a car I’m tracking but not creeping behind bad drivers to get to the grocery store 1 mile away.

My daily commute is down miles of gravel roads and a couple of optional stop signs. The manual is no burden to me for "daily" use.

My first car was a manual, all my trucks have been manuals, and I just enjoy them. I'm not one of those wieners that can only "engage" with their vehicle if it's a manual, or one that "can't" drive an automatic. I enjoy driving my wife's 4R auto too. It would be a shame to lose the option but I wouldn't lose sleep over not being able to buy a manual anymore.

I tried to have two personal vehicles in addition to my wife’s car and my kids’ cars. Between insurance and taxes it was a nightmare. Plus I had to check the weather each day. It wasn’t much fun to drive the Miata RF in the rain or cold so I would drive my Sierra 1500. I’d have to remember where’d I’d left my wallet and my ID badge. And parking in our driveway was becoming like having to solve a puzzle each day. I know these are all first world problems but it’s so much simpler and cheaper to just have one car. And I think for the Tacoma, the manual, while not perfect, is the better of the two transmissions by a large margin. It keeps me more engaged in the daily commute and while it’s no where near as good as the Miata transmission, I enjoy driving it. My Sierra was a great truck but too big for me and I thought the automatic made it boring to drive. But to each his own. I pulled the trigger on the 2022 Pro 6MT because I’m convinced there won’t be a manual option for the 4th gen. If I’m wrong, I stlll don’t want the first model year or two of a new model.

Nice. If utilitarian car cell phones were still a thing, I would probably buy a DIN mounted one.

When I towed my trailer this summer I noticed a whack of gear hunting. Not to much when just regular driving but I have a fairly light foot and I find I hit like a wall with the gas pedal
