We don't know the full story. Cycling activists? Were they intentionally blocking the road to protest something?

    ^^this

For some reason spandex=asshole bike rider

Never had any issues with a guy wearing slacks and a tie wearing a backpack on his way to work. Always the spandex guys that wanna claim the right of way, right after they run through five stop signs and red lights.

Not saying this incident is right, and I expect the driver of the car will wind up in jail for a long time, but sometimes these guys bring it on themselves.

Would like to hear the whole story. I doubt the bikers were being courteous to the other road users at the time that this happened.

    Driver could have got more!

I love to ride but I despise with an utmost rage the ones that think they own the road.

An incident happened up here in 2008. IIRC the driver was not charged with anything and the cyclists were.

    Cyclists vs motorist.

    Cyclists vs police

Looks to me like another critical mass ride that pissed off one to many drivers.

    Driver 1. Cyclists 0

Considering I've almost lost my girlfriend's dad, my mom's boyfriend and even my own mom to cycling accidents, I'm not fond of bike-car interactions.

Bike riders far too often act very elitist, which rages me like it does many others. However I would never run a cyclist off the road or actually aim to kill them.

Is jail or prison really worth the time for their elitism?

im sure everyones heard of san franciscos "critical mass"

well down in san jose they have whats called the "sj bike party" ,,,, but they aactually stop for lights, and only take up the right lane of the street so traffic can proceed as normal, they also usually start em around 7pm so its after the commute hour

so i went one time, and it was pretty fun .. 25ish miles of cruising, drinking beers, and seeing all the crazy stereo trailers people built

then i go online and read a blog from some sf idiots who came to check it out and were bitching cause when they mentioned critical mass, the sj guys said dont lump us in with those dumbasses.

well i for one, tend to be kind of a dick to some bikes. I really hate when people on bikes ride 2-4 wide and block the road. Ive come around blind corners to see people idiotically riding side x side. the see or hear cars coming but dont give a rats ass and wont move over. I also really hate when bikes ride on my side of the white line when they have a good 3' of empty space on the shoulder. If i see them in time and im on my motorcycle ill pull in the clutch hit the kill switch and coast up on them and scream at them to "move over" scares the bejesus out of them most times. In NY there have been times they will ride 4-5 wide in the lane and block traffic and wont move. Ive gone between them on my motorcycle. I hate most bicyclists

Let the shit storm begin but i fully respect riders that are courteous and follow the rules of the road.

i heard stories of those critical mass assholes clogging traffic, ripping rear view mirrors off parked cars, smashing windows riding bikes into stores, doing all sorts of damage to cars, vandalizing everything they can. Tell you what, if they pulled that shit on my car i think id go driving through them as well.

Even bicycle cops were knocking those assclowns off their bikes.

thats pretty much it. most of the people i know who work in san francisco for companies that are near where critical mass is held usually allows them to come in early fridays so they can be long gone by the time it starts

Totally agree. Its the same way in my hometown (corrales). This place is full of hippy douche bag bicyclists that think they own the road.
