I have a permit in PA and it is recipricol in many states, except for the ones I travel through. Even though it may be illegal to carry in the states that I travel through, I still do. I don't put myself in situations to where I will be busted for carrying, but if it ever comes down to my life or theirs you can bet your ass it ain't gonna be mine. Most law enforcement have the same mentality so if ever pulled over I make sure I show my permit then tell them where my weapon is.I have had one situation where I considered pulling my weapon but reconsidered after evealuating the situation. This one fella who was driving under the influence was crawlin down the road(25 in a 50) and I passed him. So I guess he didn't like this and sped up to ride my ass for bout a half mile. So I pulled to the side to let him pass. Well he didn't pass. He got out his truck and started yellin' that he was gonna kill me. So my 1911 45 acp is ready to rock 24/7 all I gotta do is pull the hammer back and pull the trigger. So I take it out my console and get her(Gladys)ready. When he approaches my window still yellin' he's gonna kill me I noticed this guys bark is gonna be way more than his bite, so I put Gladys back in the console and get out my truck and pretty much had him apologizing for being a little bitch. That was the end of that. Hammer never got pulled back and nobody I even had her. I was very glad that I didn't have to use her, but at the same time glad that I had her.

For daily...the Remora IWB and I have it left side of my belly button.

My daily carry isn't customary. I put it on for 15 minutes, then have to remove it and lock it up before work, same routine after work. The Remora is easy to put on/take off for my daily usage (I love that thing).

For an all day carry situation, I'd probably want something with a clip. I have a tuckable IWB but that thing is really hard to put on.... or perhaps I just haven't used it enough?. I might be looking for something else. Gotta check out some more youtube videos to see what other ladies are doing......

Are you still waiting on your permit?

    It's very cool!!
Granted, I carry left of my bellybutton and have female hips...so....
I've noticed it works better for me when my jeans are tighter at my waist. The tighter the fit of your pants at the waist/holster, the better.

Some of my pants are a bit loose around my waist. Wearing the remora with the loose fitting pants, the entire holster can come out when drawing...
    (atleast for me).

    +1
Condition one is the way to go! Anything else is either a negligent discharge waiting to happen, or an unloaded gun. No one wants either of those for cc.

Personally, I'd feel better if the hammer was down. I don't trust any safety 100%.

^this carrying a gun with the hammer down is about as useful as pulling a knife one someone that's folded, it's not gonna do anything but get you killed

    I think he's saying....
He doesn't trust THE SAFETY mechanism on the gun.

    (I've never had 1911, revolver, or single action...so I don't know)

With the hammer back & safety on - What are the chances it'll go off if the gun is dropped? (or would that depend on the type of gun/safety/ manufacturer)?

    Just curious...

Unless you were talking about some really really crappy made in somalia POS the 1911 won't fire unless you pull the trigger. No firearm would get the reputation that the 1911 has had for over 100 years if it were unreliable OR unsafe. Even with really bad manufacturers the VAST majority of Negligent Discharges are from user error. The ones that aren't, you aren't going to be able to do anything about anyway. Thats why the most guns should be cocked and locked and you don't take the safety off or put your finger on the trigger until your on target.

you have a better chance of a negligent discharge with the hammer down....it is designed to be carried with the hammer back and locked safer that way
