I actually wish stuff was closed Sundays. People need a break, and families to spend time together. Nowadays there's always someone working, or shopping or doing something. Downtime is a forgotten treasure.

When we decided to start closing our store on Sundays my FIL said we’d never make it. I said Chick-fil-A does :D

 Good for you! We VERY seldom do any Sunday shopping. Like once or twice a year maybe.

I absolutely agree and when our next contract negotiations start early next year I'll be pushing hard for Sunday double time for my guys so that maybe these companies will hesistate to call us up on Friday afternoon with nothing on the schedule and say hey can you support x,y,z on Sunday. In this industry we've gotten pretty used to 6 day work weeks, but Sunday needs to be protected.

Ahh, the Massachusetts Blue Laws. Hold overs from the days of the Puritans.

Some are still on the books I believe. An example, liquor stores must be closed on Sundays if you’re not within 20 miles of another state border where liquor is sold.

I could understand that logic if the only family I might have was not in Texas or Florida .

Then I worked so many odd schedules over the years.

Thinking about this Work was my family and my life my worst day was the days I had off.

I know I am very strange and weird But I really loved working .

The last 15 years being on a steady schedule I never used a Alarm up at 0300 every day .

Yep, the only thing constant in life is change.

Adapt or take a dirt nap.

I'm not ready for a dirt nap.

The kid has their big band concert tonight that includes all the middle school kids. The theme is "rock and roll".

I asked what sone their group is playing.

    Sweet Child O' Mine.
