Burning is better than burying? Okay, but is it okay if I piss on it to put it out? And now that I think about it, you want to risk burning the woods down rather than burying your toilet paper?

It may decompose faster in the PNW but I'm skeptical of "within a few weeks" even there. Most places TP doesn't decompose that fast. TP and poop take a long time to decompose in dry/desert areas where there is minimal moisture, microbes and organic material that normally help the process. Just ask anyone whose dog has dug up old cat holes near camp.

Most people here are truck camping....Is it really that hard to put dirty TP in a separate bag and dispose in the garbage somewhere???

For fucks sake don't be the asshole who burns TP and accidentally start a wild fire. Here's a few examples from a quick google search.

This is not a complaint, but it is entertaining how these forums take a life of their own veering away from the OP's original topic, should a new thread be made called 'backcountry poop photo thread'? I can't wait to take my new truck camping, and I enjoy seeing different setups. Seems GFC has some awesome products. Does anyone else wish there were more designs that are lightweight and easy to remove and put back on a bed rack, like the GFC Superlight. A permanent rtt fixture makes sense for true overland builds, I get that. But for me it's ground tents as I don't want a permanent fixture of a rtt at this point in my life.

Booked the first trip of ‘23 today. Mill creek campground at berlin lake, Ohio. Seems to be a solid spot.

What awning is that on the back? 4.5' wide like? I need something like this to give a little shelter behind the truck that deploys fast. Also any build details on that tailgate enclosure? Looks pretty cool but does it fold up to store it?

It's the ARB 4ft awning and wind break. I think its only 49" wide but really like how quick and easy it is to set up and break down.

I built the enclosure after seeing the idea on youtube. I wish it folded up. It slides in and out of the bed so I can close the tailgate while driving, but definitely takes up some real estate in the bed and the garage. I detailed how I built it here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/shortbed-slide-out-camper-build-ski-lodge.719129/#post-25598209

Wildrose campground, Death Valley last weekend. Right around 4,800ft. Snow covered Telescope peak in the background 11,048ft. Great time.

That's a nice camper trailer. How many does it sleep? Also... How's DV right now? They get the main roads open and some Backcountry trails?

    Thanks, It sleeps 2.

DV is slowly coming back to life but the back to back rain storms are slowing recovery efforts. Rangers are saying Titus canyon won't be open til the end of the season. Uebehebe is closed, along with racetrack, tea kettle and moving rocks. Lippincott is open from the bottom up but not recommended.
West Side road was open but had LOTS of flooded sections, passable and not deep, just flooded.

Where were you planning on going? We always go to DV and hit ALOT of the trails and the touristy stops also, Dantes view, zabriske, 20 mule team, Hole in the wall, (all those are open by the way).
