Too much shit going on the past couple months unfortunately. I forgot I had a blowout last time I went out and was on my spare...always something.
But I have my bikes ready to go and got my new racebike (21' Yahama YZ450FX) totally upgraded as well so at least there is that.
But I need the Jeep for night shenanigans and just going out to play so I better see what I can figure out sooner than later, and also the Jeep caries my 3rd dirtbike so I can travel like a gypsy as usual..

 

Damn, that thing is ridiculous..

 

Figure to get this instead of a 8 scope paddle so I can use it more places. Plus I don't need to run a longer chain. Man it is a stupid heavy tire. I could probably run 5 psi.
I gotta check out the YZ. I thought your husky 300 was your race bike.

How much did you pay for the new bike? everything I've looked at is not affordable or not reasonable by any means, for a dirtbike

A buddy that had that tire on his KTM500 and it worked really good in the sand, and the rows are close enough together so that its not quite as rough as a paddletire.
Should be great in Superstition, if the sand is wet it will actually have stupid traction where the tire will lift anytime throttle is applied.
When I came out last time I brought my Honda AF500 and the paddle tire was wheelies in EVERY gear.

Gotta have 2 bikes for racing, I compete in Open A/pro depending on the sanctioning body so as long as my bikes are over 251ccs I can ride whatever as long as it fits that cutoff in engine displacement.
I use the 2 stroke (Husky TX300) for more technical events where having a lighter bike and better maneuverability is a benefit and I use the 450 4 stroke for faster courses since that bike has more power and weight so it feels a bit more planted when banging off desert rocks, bushes and dirt mounds at high speeds.

The new Yamaha is pretty slick! My only 2 complaints are the super tiny fuel tank (2.1 gallons) and no kickstarter, only E-start, I am going to order a new battery (Antigravity) which has a built in jumper circuit in case you kill the battery you get another chance before you are totally fawked being stuck in the bottom of a canyon with no possibility of being in a location where a push start is even possible..

 

I have a connection with a bunch of race teams so I got one of the Purvines racing bikes at the end of the season that was rebuilt just to make sure it was fresh. I just got done doing all the mods.
Heavier forged steel clutch basket, WR electrical system (140watts) BD XL-Pro headlight, Trail tech fan, disk guards, hand guards, FMF 4.1 exhaust, re-geared for higher top speed, re-valved and re-sprung suspension, flexx- urethane bushed handlebars, new tires with a bib up front and a TuBliss in the rear and a bunch of other random stuff. Still need radiator guards and a larger fuel tank..
I got the bike for $6500 but that’s only because I know them well and they sell them to me pretty much as cost..

 

Then it makes sense having the 2 bikes. I do the same with my 125 and 450 for desert riding.

If you are coming from the north side (78/86)I top off at Westmorland. There is a loves and few other stations.
From the 8 I forgot where exactly. You just wanna fill up before going down the hill.
