Changing the exhaust again tomorrow. Okay first off its a 2007 double cab 4.0l v6. My planned set up would be running stock headers, keeping all four cats and replacing my dual flowmaster with a Y-pipe to 4 inch tips. So pretty much just replacing the muffler with a y-pipe for dual strights. Can somebody find me a video or post theres if they have the same set up. No muffler, just all four cats
    Thank you

I know the open headers one, the guy had it cut at the first set of cats so it had alott of back pressure causing it to sound like trash. I watched one where a guy had no cats no muffler just stright pipes, not true duals though, but having the full pipe gives it a great sound.

    You said and I quote

"My planned set up would be running stock headers, keeping all four cats and replacing my dual flowmaster with a Y-pipe to 4 inch tips."

and "No muffler, just all four cats"

Sure sounds like open headers to me.

Open headers is dumping the exhaust at the end of the exhaust manifold, or soon thereafter... having x amount of pipe will add a little bit of backpressure

Cutting the cats AND leaving them in...? Those are contradicting terms. Im more than happy to help, you just have your terms mixed up I think

I'm going to leave all four cats in but just cut the muffler out. and place a y pipe where the muffler would be to have duals
