Yes, yes I could. But the run-out distance is lacking.

I've worked at a couple of places that had that philosophy.

Went to put on the skids yesterday and only got the front installed...didn't plan well and wasted a bunch of time. Got the mid plate mounted tonight after work. But back to yesterday...got the truck up on stands and took off the skid Dan gave me. Then thought: maybe I should coat the bolts with anti-seize in case I want to take them back off in the future. The supplied bolts look like they'd rust pretty easily. Mounted the first plate loosely and though I should lift the rear a bit...was feeling a bit claustrophobic. Run the floor jack under the rear axle and...nothing. Will lift to the axle but will not build pressure. WTF??!!! By the time I figured out how I was going to get the truck off the stands with a bottle jack, I was going to start losing light before I was done, so I stopped and re-grouped. Tightened the bolts and pulled the truck down, put tools away and sulked the rest of the evening.

Now I have another project: figure out what is wrong with the floor jack, it's not that old.

Oh and it's obvious I hit something with the stock trans skid...it's bent.

    What brand of floor jack?

I've made the mistake of not twisting the handle all the way and felt real smart afterwards.

Michellin. Has a fast lift circuit that is probably the problem. The first think I thought was I didn't turn the handle enough but that's not it. The thing that blows my mind is it lifted the truck just fine, then 15 minutes later, won't lift. I've never seen oil under the jack, so it should have oil in it. Might have some time this weekend to give it a quick once-over.

Have been thinking about an 'off-road' jack.
