or you could add some ‘heat sink’ behind the letters… JB weld some nuts or washers on the back.

 

I’d think, with your brand (circular with a ‘heavy’ middle), you might actually want to set the edge and then slowly ‘wobble’ it down in a circular motion… more time/pressue on the edge letters, less on the turtle.

 

This is a good idea...you can apply even (ish) pressure

 

Or perhaps revise the design to have more consistent line width, so as to keep the heat more consistent.

beautiful work! A '72 tele style copy is something I most definitely want to do at some point in the future when I get a little more space to work around. One thing I'm unsure about is how to make the f hole chamber if I were to go for a thinline style.

 

I asked an older woodworker/luthier how to go about building a guitar. He said,“It’s simple. Just take a slab of wood and cut, rout, rasp, sand, and drill away anything that’s not a guitar.”

On a lighter note, I just finished staining a simple plywood platform for the back of my AccessCab Tacoma. The seats were of no use to me, so out they came.
The flat spot will make the pooch much happier…..

 

Finally got the bottom of the desktop easel cut.

 

Contemplating looking around for an affordable, used drill press that I could set up at home to do all my branding. I figure I could look for a little one. Doesn't need to be big. Is this a bad idea? Or an ok idea? Seems like the 8" ones don't look that expensive.
