Reviews On ARB Bumper and Others

im considering getting an ARB bumper for my truck here in a couple days but before i purchase i just wanted to hear the reviews and if the PROcomp or other bumpers were any better or anything?
my trucks gotta 3 inch Revtek lifts with 33's.
i know it might make the front sag a bit but i heard it wasnt too bad?

 

its a heavy badass bulletproof bumper. im my experience and research i would only go with the ARB or the shrockworks...

i dont like the allpros (on looks only) and despise all things procomp. i hate every procomp product ive ever used.(tires, rims, shocks, lifts) so i assume the bumpers suck too.

Procomp doesn't make bumpers?

they make really aweful ones for jeep. i helped install one once, i bent one of the mounting tabs with my bare hands!

 

too heavy if you ask me.

i doubt better, surely differant though. the allpro seems to have improved approach angles over the ARB... but the ARB seems to have more protection...

its all about what works for you... and of course, looks.

 

ARB doesnt look too bad for the Tacoma. i think they could have made it fit a little closer to the body, but it seems very solidly mounted and comes with a reasonable price for what you get IMO. Im not a big fan of their 'universal' styling that they use so if i were to buy a bumper i would get the shrockworks bumper even though it costs a bit more.

 

Here is a pic of mine. I like this bumper a lot and have used it once so far. But like xtreme450 said you half to have the bumper spaced far enough away from the body other wise the bumper will hit with the fender well covers when you have hard hits or wash board roads where the body flexes. I had to have the shop lower the bumper some more.

 

love the black fenders! being a jeeper, paint on my flares just feels weird!

 

I like the All-pro hybrid myself, light weight and functional.

 

If your referring to my fenders they came that way from the factory as black not painted though. It was the Baja Pkg

 

i know! though when i get my tacoma, if it has painted flares, im taking them off and finding some black ones!

 

I can't imagine trying to fit the ARB any closer to the body. As it is, when off road, mine occasionally "kisses" the underside of the fender, scuffing the bumpers' paint

 

I'll have to make some gaskets when i get mine then,

on the jeep arb, theres a one to four inch gap.

Same here and I had to have the shop lowere mine a little more because when on wash board roads it really sounds like you hit something hard and the paint is gone in the same place as you have said. There is a pin bolt that is fixed and 3 bolts that are slotted. My shop that installed my bumper had to redrill that pinbolt and lower my bumper to stop this from hitting.

 

+1 for the all pro hybred. But damn. $800? Unpainted?
