It’s been a couple years since I’ve had one of these but arai’s feel like home to me. Anyone else have a favorite helmet brand and or model? E778A6C5-C2AB-42F8-88D4-79A18EC62B22.jpg

I haven't been through too many helmets, but my current one is a modular Schuberth E1 and it is the nicest I've ever had. Super quiet, but by bike also doesn't also go over 75, so take that with a grain of salt!

I’ve never had a Schuberth so I had to look it up, but that’s a nice looking adventure helmet.

If you have an oval head, Schuberth is not a good fitting helmet. I bought one and really wanted to like it, but because I have a football-shaped head had to sell it. Arai is my favorite. Hands down best helmet out there. There's a place in PA called The Service Pavilion that will fit you for one for free (swapping out cheek pads, etc.). They used to come down for the International Motorcycle Show, but not sure they still do.

I hope you got the wildest graphics on that Arai.

Their graphic choices have slimmed to solid colors and an “oriental” design. I got matte black. I used to get all the wild designs, I had a Hayden replica arai and a Suomy that was laden this glittery hibiscus flowers that were my favorites.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
So after after a new windshield, tires, and a state inspection, I thought I was good to go for a while without anything major coming up. Until the dealership called. They said I was passed on the state inspection, but warned that next year I probably won't pass. Steering rack is leaking to the tune of roughly $1600. Quick searches said that it really can't be repaired, and that might cost more than replacing. And that they have to move the engine to get this done. Any other options for this? I saw a video about removing forward over the frame, but it involved cutting something off and reinstalling in inverted to avoid moving the engine.

I am sure an independent shop can do it much cheaper. And/or pass you next year.

I did see that. I assumed there was a lot of labor. And standard dealer mark up.

I’m not a big believer in additives, but I have used lucas steering stop leak on an old 4runner and it tightened the steering up and stopped the leak for the rest of the couple months I had it.

I'll actually second this. Just flushed the Silverado power steering and used their fluid with magic juice in it and the power steering is groan free.

I did see that in what looking I did. It didn't seem to be a long term solution. I may have a road trip to MI coming up soon (maybe this weekend), so I'll look for it tomorrow and get it added in.
