Ok which is better, Bilsteins 6112s or the kings shocks for the front only. Which will give more travel and which will handle small jumps better.( I’m asking people that own either of these)

I just want something better then stock for light off-road and some little jumps

You'll be fine with Bilstein's on one of the lower settings.

Kings are cool but unless you're willing to fork out $800-1500 every 20-50K to rebuild, it's not worth it. They look cool and all but unless you have the resources to rebuild, I wouldn't bother.

I had them on my 5th gen but plan to get 6112/5160 for my 3rd gen this time around.

Ultimately, its your money, you do you.

Many spends thousands to upgrade to 2.5's and never use them to their full potential. The 6112's would probably be just fine. The factory Bilstein's on the third gen Tacoma's are capable of a lot.

I don't know what your experience getting shocks rebuilt is, but I've had my Kings rebuilt twice and the combined total of those two rebuilds doesn't even come close to $800.

It's dependent of who you go to or if you have the skill to do it yourself.

I've been quoted 150-200 per shock, not including shafts or spherical bearing replacement if they're pitted or damaged.

I would also have been without a vehicle for 2-7 days and spend time removing and reinstalling the suspension, or paying someone 200-800 labor to do it for me.

You seem young, and from your previous posts about trying to go as fast as possible... also factoring in that you want to do jumps with your truck... Go with whatever is cheaper. Isn't gonna matter how cool your shocks are when you roll it over.

Fair. I would never pay to have someone do the removal and installation. I was only considering the cost of the rebuild itself, which again, was pretty reasonable both times I've done it.

It's sound advice. Doesn't matter what kinda shocks you have, Kings, ADS, Bilstein, Monroe Quick Struts, etc.. when the truck is on it's roof.

It’s ok, I understand that you are mad that a 17 year old has a nicer truck than you.

You have asked the question about shocks in multiple threads.

You realize from then and now, and going forward, there will be no new development.

If anything, there is less and less support for the platform than ever.

Inflation? Last time I rebuilt my Kings it was $170 for all 4 corners and about 3 hours of my time. $50 of that was a gallon of Fox Oil that will last another 10 rebuilds. lol

OP, to answer your question. Kings or Fox.

Yeah but he said 800-1500 for rebuild, that's what I was balking at.

As for shocks, the kid wanted to supercharge it and race people...then do high-speed baja shit, then long travel, then back to jumping his truck, he's all over the place.
