Well, the bengals have moved into the role of road favorite, so this seems to be the expected outcome

 

I’ll ignore it. I really liked our chances with a full strength team. They want revenge and I would have probably given 3-2 odds in KC’s favor. But with our MVP hobbled I’m flipping that to 3-2 odds against us.

 

You haven’t won any games against the Joe Burrow Bengals.

Healthy or not, how was this game expected to be any different?

 

4 great teams. 3 great quarterbacks and a Cinderella newbie. I’m glad these are the teams playing next week and it will be fun to see what happens. At this point I’d give the nod to Jalen and the Eagles for the NFC but so much of their offense depends on him including a run game that exposes him to injury. What happened to Pollard isn’t unheard of, we’re down 2 QB’s to the same injury this year and we just saw PM hobbled but if he comes through unscathed I don’t see the Niners being able to force the same mistakes from Jalen that Dak made. I like Purdy and how he’s performing but the Eagles are better than Dallas and Jalen is a lot better than Dak so short of an injury or a lopsided collection of fluke plays(pics, fumbles, kick returns) making it close I think Philly takes it. I could be wrong and Brock could have a monster game but it would take either that or a monster ground game and I don’t see Philly allowing either. It would be amazing if it happens though.

 

Brady beat Peyton first 6 times and then Peyton won the next 3. Just saying I felt we had a good chance if healthy to finally win one. I have a lot of respect for the Bengals. Also, 2 of those 3 came down to the final play. Could have easily been KC 2 - Cincy 1 last 2 years.

 

Normally I wouldn’t bet against Mahomes but I don’t see how he can be the trademark threat and might not even play with a high ankle sprain on his plant leg. Those take several weeks to heal. Deebo injured his week 14 and wasn’t back until week 18.

 

Maybe as a Phila fan I’m still tainted on Reid but he still appears to ‘get in his own way’ in the playoffs. Without Mahomes KC loses that SB against SF. Regardless of Mahomes injury I’m going with Cinci due to the ‘Reid factor’

 

Reid’s first 5 years at KC with Alex Smith … 1-4 playoff record including two 18+ lead chokes. His next 5 years with Mahomes … 9-3 playoff record with two of those three losses in OT. Just one bad game (Tampa). Cincy is likely to win with this Mahomes injury. I only hope that if we squeak by he is better by the SB with 3 weeks of healing. Still likely affected.

 

Mahomes is a different breed and is changing the QB position. I credit Mahomes for those wins more than the game plan. If you see Reid’s career playoff #s, they’re not good.

 

Yea, I LOVE Big Red, but before Mahomes he was another Marty Schottenheimer … tons of consistent regular season success but disappointing post-seasons.

 

I don’t hold his record prior to Mahomes against him. Getting to the post season is possible without a great qb but moving on is difficult unless you have a team stacked with other talent instead. 5 straight AFC title games should settle that question. Coaches are still people and can make mistakes and they also have to leverage the game remotely through the players against some pretty talented people with their own agenda.

 

Don’t omit the 5 NFC title games with Phila. Add it all up… Reid is lacking

 

It’s never enough to please some. Most of the league(Dallas included) would kill for the success Reid has enjoyed in spite of the number of times he’s come up short. Analysts get to view everything in hindsight and get paid rediculous amounts to criticize something few can succeed at in real time. When he’s gone and KC is stuck for decades going through a succession of “I need to look at the film” responses to real failure maybe he’ll be appreciated more but I won’t be surprised if not.

 

Reid didn't succeed in Phila. He has succeeded in KC with a SB victory. A SB victory is the measure of success in the NFL. Reid did draft Mahomes who is mainly responsible for the SB win, so Reid gets credit for that.
