Followed!! Just cause. Don't think I'll put a SC on my Sequoia, but a good mod thread is hard to come by.
Well poop. I was on the fence last buy....

I was on the fence too, but changing out cams is too annoying of a job to do, especially once you get in there and start messing with the valve springs. Nahhh. That's too much for me, especially at the awkward height that our trucks sit at. That makes it even more of a turn off.

I would say it depends on what you wanna do with the vehicle. So far with the built engine in my truck the 40-70 roll has been paying itself off and that's mostly due to the cams and headwork, the mid to top end is awesome. Haven't towed with it yet but feels stronger than the previous stock engine and I had no complaints towing 6k.

Would it be ok to run a 2.7 on a stock belt? I don't recall many issues with that setup but am open to feedback.

Elaborate... Any wrap mods or a fully stock setup with belt routing and distance?

Seems like you'll probably have belt slip or not enough tension.

You’d need a pulley wrap. I had that size for a minute and used roost’s pulley mod. I ended up switching back to a 2.8….

I'm running a 2.7 pulley with the stock tensioner and idler pulleys. I am running a belt off a 1.9 diesel from a none is model that has the correct length. It has been holding up good.
It was posted up here before and at least one other guy bought the same belt. You have to get it through eBay. I thought @12TRDTacoma posted it on the first page.

I am indeed running the 70.5" effective length belt on a 2.7 pulley indeed, but I am also running a double bearing tensioner pulley on now a stock tensioner and the belt itself is a RPM belt which has increased traction as well so that may change things a little bit. Regardless. No slip!

I thought I did as well. There is some clean up work as a whole I need to do to the belt list, but I'll add this one to the to do list.
