I’ve seen folks remove the brace and put a tennis ball on the end of the buffer tube lol

 

See even if you form one it they still got your balls cause you now have registered your gun to their list and they will show up one day to collect.

 

You have to put a tube with no stock attachment holes on it though for it to even be considered legal still lol

 

Im thinking of finally getting a glock. I want an AK too so not sure which one i will get first

 

I'd take that chance over them knowing(because I showed them) I committed a felony with a 10yr/250K fine behind it.

 

I've never been a fan of AK's. I respect what they are, just not to my bag baby

That's not to say, I'd own one if I got a once in a lifetime deal

 

The rule says nothing about the buffer tube. It's the brace

Pistol Brace Rule Includes 120 Days to Comply or Become a Felon!
The ATF’s final rule goes into effect the day it is published in the Federal Register. So if you already own a pistol with a stabilizing brace, what are your options? Luckily, ATF has provided a grace period in their rule, as well as a list of options for owners of stabilizing braces. ATF has “generously” granted owners of these braces 120 days from the date of publication to comply with the new rule. While we believe that this new rule is a blatant violation of the law and the constitution, the simple fact remains that, at the moment, it is in effect and will be enforced by ATF. If you want to be as safe as possible and avoid being the test case under this new rule, the list of options given by ATF are:
1) Register the weapon or attachment under the NFA within 120 days of the rule’s final publication;
2) Remove the short barrel and attach a barrel that is 16” long or longer to the firearm;
3) Permanently remove and dispose of, or alter, the stabilizing brace so that it cannot be reattached;
4) Turn the firearm in to your local ATF office; or
5) Destroy the firearm.

 

Yea but there's special Pistol buffer tubes. Ive seen where ppl have gotten in trouble before this ruling for having rifle buffer tubes with a pistol brace. Because you can just slip on a rife stock.

 

Im saying with any firearm. Id jusy get one i didnt have to register so they wouldnt know i had any guns.

 

That's getting into "intent". With that, they could easily say anyone with a pistol and a rifle has the "intent" to convert the pistol into a SBR. The people that got in trouble ran into law enforcement that didn't know what the hell they were talking about.....and it seems to happen way too often.

Same goes for that dude in FL that you watch on YT. He gets shit for open carrying an AR with fishing gear. He's within the law, but still gets harassed.

Agree with Phil. Still, saw is still not in federal register yet and likely to have any number of lawsuits to appeal it and hopefully successfully. There are about 40 million braced weapons out there if not more and if ATF could process one a minute without any breaks in a five day week, based on the number of ATF processors they have it is estimated it would take about 69 years for the one processor to do his allotment. Final thought: They are out to turn thousands if not millions of firearms owners into felons.

 

Smooth tube will be fine.

People need to realize that all this bullshit is unconstitutional, and the ATF hasn't followed the law in years. Along with the rest of our government.

If that day comes, we have bigger problems. That would mean they will attempt to disarm some of the most well armed folks in the US, including well trained military, cops and ex-SF guys.

 

Not even going to get started on that one. I am tending more and more to limit what the alphabet agencies have access to, much less than caring about getting suspended from the forum.
