Last Fall I was nearing 45,000 on my 17 Limited. Was wanting to replace the original Michelins for some 10 ply tires that better cope with gravel roads I drive frequently the last year. About $900 to $1000 was the range for the 10ply.
I had been reading about some doing quite well on trading in for new 2023s, looked at Bluebook and thought why not talk to the local dealer. My driving is never off road, town n highway. For those miles n 5yrs I actually used 4WD once or twice each year. Well I didn’t need all the Limited’s bells n whistles. So Dec 3, 2023 I took delivery on a 2023 White SR Dcab 2WD 2.7 Auto. Close to 2000 miles now and it’s great. My mods are a soft tonneau and a black form fit hood deflector, kinda sets off the white body and black grill. Sandbags in the back, ready for some in town snow driving. 23-24mpg highway. The Limited and $2200, hey felt good to me.

    Nice.

I just picked up a slightly used SR SX 4 banger 4x4. Couldn’t survive the winter up here in NE VT without 4WD though….

on a side note, I had some old (circa 2002) Nokia Hakkapeliita 10 ply tires that came off a Super Duty. Size was 225/75 R16 E. They’re kinda skinny, but I like that in a snow tire. They ride surprisingly smooth for such a heavy duty tire!

Oh well, retiring in a few days. Maybe a good thing, date issues.
Overall, yeah probably worthless but hey, another target to comment on.

I have an 18 Limited that I’ve come to enjoy. Last summer while the dealer replaced the front diff under warranty they gave me an SRX? As a loaner. The thing looked nice with dark red paint and black rims, but man did I miss my creature comforts. Apparently I need my sunroof, heated leather and tech package. I couldn’t wait to give that loaner back! To each his own though. Congrats on the new truck.

    Trade a V6 4X4 Limited for a 2WD I4 SR? Yikes!
I understand the appeal of a base model truck, but I likes my bells and whistles :)

Yep, I understand, kinda weird. My wife talked me into the Limited. I traded a 08 Ranger XL, that was bare bones, more than the 2023 SR. The 2.7 is possibly longer life than the V6. I’m not in a hurry and don’t carry heavy loads. The 2.7 works for me.
